I'm just wondering if my fiancé needs to get IRS tax transcripts for the last 3 years or will his W2 and 1040 be sufficient from 2004-2006? Are there any differences between those forms?

tax transcripts should be fine. You can get them for free visiting the irs.gov website. Just do a search for 'transcripts" download, file and mail it. It does take a while to get them, but they're free. Hope this helps.

You don't need tax transcripts. The W-2 and 1040 are fine.

I just sent in copies of my returns that I had (these were unsigned because I had filed electronically - so I just mentioned on the copies "Unsigned - filed electronically") had no issues with these. Good Luck

Tax transcripts are more valid evidence as they show you filed your taxes. Free and easy to get.

Thanks for the replies! My fiancé already called IRS and asked them to fax the transcripts since my interview will be in 3 weeks!

I actually made copies of my W2's and 1040's and had them notarized by a notary. The G325 says to have them notarized, but transcripts should be fine. And from what I read earlier, someone just sent the copies and they were fine. Good Luck.
