hello everyone, this is Marty and Alissa. Our long anticipated visa interview is coming up soon! we are ready to schedule the interview any time however we are not living in Dublin at this time, we are living in Canada so we have to fly to Dublin. We have a complicated situtation but basically the long and short of it is neither one of us can afford to stay in Dublin for longer than we have to, i.e. the interview. Another complication is that Martin (beneficiary) has NOT has his medical exam that he needs to do before the interview. We are trying to plan the medical and interview between a 2 week period. we have called the list of 3 doctors and they all say that there should be no problem and that the results from the medical should take no more than 5 days. I am hoping that is true but still I am skeptical. Martin called several times to confirm this and first they said 3 days, then 5 and then a week just to be safe. So my first question is: what has been people's experience with this "medical" in Dublin pertaining to wait times for the results? Apparently there's also bloodwork and a host of vaccinations that need to be done? I really need to know how long it took for other people to get their results because we are booking an app't for the medical AND interview BEFORE we are actually in Dublin. So in other words, we will have our medical on a Monday for example, give it 5 business days for the results and then have the interview the next Monday. I really don't see why it would take even 5 days but you never know, that's why I was wondering. It has to be done this way, it's a long story I won't bore you! Also, the Embassy already has ALL of our information that is relevant to our case. They have original copies of EVERYTHING. I have read that some people get to the interview and the Embassy says they are missing things or they are incomplete. We do not want that to happen because we are only scheduled to be in Dublin for a certain period of time. neither one of us live there. In order to avoid mistakes and having to re-schedule an interview I would appreciate greatly if anyone could let us know what the Embassy may of asked you to bring to the interview or what we should bring. Please remember our case is a bit different because they already have all of our things so we don't know what else they would need. Just want to make sure though. Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Hello there! :) Bring a copy of everything you've sent to be safe. As for the medical, four to five days sounds about right. Also, even if the medical results are not with the embassy by your interview date, all that will happen is that the visa will be granted pending medical results (assuming everything else is fine) and there would be a bit of a delay with the visa being sent. It wouldn't be terrible to show up at the interview before the medical results did. :)

We're not doing DCF till next year but in regards to the medical:

I've done various bloodwork recently, including TB, rubella, HIV etc due to being pregnant. Your doctor won't be able to analyze the blood in his office, it'll get sent to a hospital. This usually takes 5-7 working days until your doctor will get the results, in my experience. Good luck, let us know how you get on!
