...do I apply for advanced parole? I filed the petition for removing my conditional permanent residency in the beginning of february and my green card expires may 13th, so I made sure it was at least 90 days before the expiration date. I cannot call to see my case status, because I haven't received any receipt and it's all they ask for.

Should I just book a flight towards the end of june? Or apply for advanced parole? Or should I just leave on the day I booked the flight even with my expired green card and hopefully it will arrive before my husband will reach me in August? (and so, he will bring it).

Have I confused you?

Thanks,

Francesca

You did NOT get a letter about one or two weeks after mailing in your I-751 that says that your status is extended for one year?

Normally you would get this letter; it becomes your travel permission. If you did NOT get a NOA extending your status, you need to take some follow up steps. That is the only travel permission you are going to get unless you can get a stamp in your passport.

You will NOT be receiving a new Green Card without sending in photos etc. I-751 can take 3-18 months to be approved.

When we filled to get the conditions removed for my wife last year,we got a letter back months later saying we were approved. Then we had to take passport style photos to our local INS office and finish more paper work. Then the officer told us 3-6months wait b4 the greencard would arrive. We asked about the AP and was told that she was now a US resident and she could no longer get an AP.But if the green cards had not arrived 30 days B4 we leave to visit her family in Canada that they would stamp her passport. From this point your not even approved for LPR.Im sure you will be,but you have to wait for them to let you know.If I were you I would not leave the country without some kinda of travel document.

Actually you become a "US resident" (and therefore ineligible for AP) when you get the *first* (two-year) green card.

Concur with Meauxna -- you should have gotten a letter giving you a one year extension on your conditional green card. When you travel, you bring your expired GC plus that letter extending your GC for one year.

I filed I-751 in March and we got the letter about 2 weeks later. If you haven't gotten it, you need to follow up with USCIS on that. You cannot apply for AP, you need that letter or a stamp in your passport.
