After months of getting things together, I finally sent of the packet today!

:dance::D(L)

I fear that I perhaps we have not furnished enough proof of relationship. I never kept our msn conversations, and I finally gave up on printing a copy of my skype records when I couldn't figure it out after a week of trying.

But I did have a letter, our comments on our online myspace and orkut pictures, and my plane ticket to visit for three weeks over Xmas and New Year's!

I have done a lot of research though, and I figure it's better to send it off and have forthcoming evidence ready if they ask for a RFE. I sure hope not though!

I'm so grateful for this site and forum, I don't know what we would have done without it!

Now we just wait.....

A little confused, Plane ticket for a future flight? Have you met in person yet?

Ongoing relationship evidence is not that important with the petition, it's used in the interview. With the petition, you need to show that you have met in person, in the past 2 years.

Yes, you're making no sense at all. Did you include proof of meeting within the past two years? There's nothing in any instructions or guides to suggest you send in proof of relationship with the fiance petition.

If you havent met yet you cant file a K1 visa. You will have to wait until after your trip. one letter, some msn chats, myspace comments, and a plane ticket in the future isnt proof you have met in the last 2 years. pictures together are only secondary evidence you need your boarding passes, visa stamps, receipts with both your names on it, all from having already met. Sorry but i think you just wasted your visa fee.

are you sure you researched this? the first requirement is to have MET in last 2 years.

Quote eve101!

Also, while I was in Brazil, through some dumb fluke I only got a 30 day tourist visa, which I overstayed for about 2 months.

And, we only have but ONE photo of us together (since my camera was stolen 2 days after we met and he didn't have one at the time.)

Looks like eve101 has met her fiancee in person.

Take more pics when you go back. No need them for initial petition but will for the embassy interview.

Use a throw away camera and a digital

How odd that its seems I gave the impression we have not met in person! We were together for only a couple of months after meeting but I had to come home to the U.S.

I had no camera at the time, but we have ONE PICTURE of us together!!! Thank goodness!!!

But I thought I needed to show evidence of our ongoing relationship in the first packet!!!!! That's what it says.

(If it's only needed later, all the better! )

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone!

i think it was the "plane ticket" part. after the flight you dont have the ticket, you have boarding passes and visa stamps on your passport. you didnt mention any visa stamps etc. you made it sound like you were going to visit at christmas coming up. not that you had already visited. good luck with your petition.
