I've set an Infopass appointment for tomorrow (9th) at 8am. I can't handle it anymore. No case updates no notices no nothing. I am starting to fall apart and can't sleep/gaining weight etc.

I'll let you know if infopass can provide any information, as the customer support number could provide no details.

Hope u get answers, but dont hold ur breathe!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I arrived at 7:30 to the office, which was a tad early (but traffic was so bad I knew I had to leave early). Walked into the Federal building in Santa Ana at 7:35 after parking. We had to remove our phones which Sara had to run back to the car with but they wouldn't let me wait outside for her. Pushed me through the metal detector, into the check in room and into the waiting room. By the time Sara got back I was at the window after my number was called and it was about 7:38.

I passed the immigration officer my 485 and 765 documents and asked to check status on both.

485 - still pending. 1-2 months more processing

765 - Approved, FBI namecheck approved. Will receive notice in the mail within 30 days he said.

The delay he said is just because of a massive influx of applications. They just can't get to them within the previous time frames no matter what they do.

So I guess I will get everything before Christmas.

You must be somewhat relieved :)

You know me too well already I guess. "Somewhat" is the right word. I don't trust anyone these days and I never take anything at face value. When we left Sara was pretty excited (though very tired, she hates 6am more than I do) but I was sort of speechless. She asked why and I just said "It isn't over yet!"

I am just relieved everyone was helpful and friendly. Made it easier. I go into every government building pretty uptight.
