I finally got an update on the USCIS status site.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office

My application was pending at CSC since January 2006, does this update mean, it is at a local office now for further processing?

Another question is: Which local office and is there a way to find out which one?

The reason why I ask is, I live in Louisiana, so New Orleans would be my local office, BUT Dallas office is way closer to where I live and that's where my biometrics were taken as well.

So, if it is in Dallas, I am already out of the processing times for a while, if it is in NO, I'd have to wait another 5 months or so (according to the processing times from USCIS)

Any tips, what I could do to find out? IF I call the info line, I know they will only tell me it got transfered.

Should I call the local offices? Does nybody have the phone numbers for Dallas and New Orleans local office?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

If you have been transfered back to your local office then you will most likely get an interview appointment soon... you can find out where your local office is by going to the USCIS website and try making an infopass appointment it will tell you what office the appointment is for.... infact you may want to go to infopass appointment to find out how much longer it is going to be before you get the interview...

But in order to make an infopass appointment, I need to know what local office I have to go to, right? Or can I just go to the nearest one and they will tell me where my case is pending?

When you go online to set up an InfoPass appointment you will be asked to enter your zip code. With your zip code they will determine which office they will set up an appointment for you.

Thank you, I just did that. Dallas wasn't even an option, only New Orleans (district office) and Jackson and Memphis (satellite office, what the heck is a satellite office??)

So can I assume that my case is in New Orleans?
