While it would be really nice if both of you came, don't hesitate to come by yourself if he doesn't want to come! haha

Actually if I wanted to come, and my husband didn't, he'd be encouraging me to go without him. No biggie. Let me know either way Amber.

There is no parking lot for this restaurant. Street parking is available. It might be fairly limited close to the restaurant as well. Gene assures me that anywhere is basically okay in this area. Parking several streets away is no problem. It's a bustling area in the evenings with all the bars and restaurants. It will be light when people arrive, and no one should hesitate to ask someone to walk them out at the end of the evening if they'd be more comfortable.

Amber, yes, come with or without your husband! My fiance is in Edmonton so I will be coming by myself too.

Carla, thank you for checking on that. I think it is the same exit for a place my friend used to like to go (before she moved to North Carolina), and that is NOT surrounded by other bars and restaurants so it is a bit dodgy at night (according to her then-husband, at least), hence my concern. If there are lots of things open, it should be fine.

Maybe by then I will have my NOA1!

You guys needn't worry about the area at night. Soulard is heavily populated with neighborhoods, bars, and restaurants. People are always out and about. I have lived in St. Louis all my life, my grandmother lived just blocks from the restaurant. I cannot recall a single incident involving the area....except during Mardi Gras.

I was planning on coming until I received an invite for my best friend's bridal shower which is on the same day. I thought maybe I could swing both things but her shower is at 3pm and it's a 3hr drive to st louis for me so I don't think I will be able to make this one. it's a shame too cos I would like to meet everyone!
