I brought quite a few DVDs with me over from the UK and want to be able to watch them here, not being very technical can anyone advise the kind of player I will need?

Will any multi-region or multi-zone player work for both UK and US DVDs?

Just wanted to check what others have done before I buy one!

I'm sure you can buy multi-region DVD players, but you may not need to. My wife's cheap DVD player handles my UK DVDs after I looked up online for the right hack. If your SO already has a DVD player, google the make and model to see if it can be hacked.

Do a google search on dvd region hacks.

There are several DVD players at Walmart costing around $30 dollars that can be hacked quite easily. If it is hackable it will have both a PAL and NTSC output already built in.

If you want a player with better quality or don't want to hack one try http://www.world-import.com/dvd.htm they do multi region audio visual equipment going up to the really top quality stuff.
