Folks,

After 3 years of waiting, we got a detaild RFE on I-130, wihch we responded to. Last week I did a congressional inquiry and they told that as of 10/1, the 130 and 485 have been assigned to an adjudicating officer and that we should check back in 60 days if we don't hear anything. The immigration liaison at the senator's office said it was a good sign.

My question is, if all goes well, what are the next steps? What should I expect to receive next if all goes well? And in which of these steps would I see the LUD change (I log on every day but the only change I see is that they received the response to RFE last month).

Thank you all for all the kind help you have offered all throughout. I hope I am close to the finish line :)

I just saw your timeline- two years without even a touch?

How did they explain that.

You know, I am starting to think that for some reason they just pick names out of hats for people to mess with.

The NVC says the USCIS recalled our approved I-130 even though the USCIS says they have no record of asking for it- and they do not have it- despite it being shown as touched on the website.

For 10 months our I-129 had not been touched, the after inquiring about it since we weren't getting any answers about the I-130 it got approved. Now we are hoping they don't cancel it ( long story) or hold that back to.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

Any ideas on what the next steps would be? If all goes well, would I just get an interview notice? Or would the LUD change prior to that, about the file transferred to the local office? I just wanted know what I should expect to hear (again if everything goes well).

Absurdly ridiculous ! I cannot believe how incompetent they can be. I hope they get their act together now that they will be receive a LOT more money.

Anyway, good luck. We had to wait for one month after sending an RFE and we could barely sleep at night, I couldn't survive 2...3 years waiting...
