Okay, how is everyone here in vj land today? I am dead tired and nervous as all get out! I never knew there were so many "hidden" areas in my house that need cleaning. With 3 boys I spend a lot of my time re-cleaning the same area over and over. Anyone wanna borrow a 12 year old and twin 10 year olds for a while? I think they would be a deterant (SP) to child bearing! LOL

Okay, so my husband sent his passport to the embassy on Oct 3rd. I hope they are busy printing the visa as we speak. Does anyone know of any instances where they asked for the passport but sent it back without the visa in it? Also, has anyone gone thru or known someone to go thru the Detroit airport for the entry point? We are still up in the air about Detroit, or Chicago, both are about equal distances from me. Hopefully, we are planning for an entry on or around November 15th, Inshallah.

Hope to see some happiness posted soon, be it about pregnancies, births, or visa's!

Have a HAPPY DAY EVERYONE!!

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

Tammy, if distance is about the same, i would pick whichever airport you are more comfortable driving to. I think Chicago is a much bigger airport. I personally like Detroit. Good luck with everything!

I know exactly what you mean about cleaning the same area over and over. Yesterday I cleaned our living room coffee table up 6 times!!! AND I did the dishes 5 times!!!!! I should just play a tape recorder of "girls please put your shoes in the shoe rack and not under the coffee table, girls please put your dishes in the kitchen, girls please put your trash away, blah blah blah"

It's rainy here today. It's Columbus Day and I feel like my dept is the only one in Boston working. Traffic was very light though so that's good. We're getting ready for the year end financials and the annual audit so everyone is stressed out.

:yes::dance:

But I have to spend the whole day studying, so it doesn't really feel like a proper day off. Though I do get to stay in my jammies all day, which I'm very fond of. :)

Well if you think Boston is shut down you should see DC!!! In the 5 months that I've lived here I've never seen it this quiet! It usually takes me 20 minutes on a good day to drive in, today it took like 8. Wow just amazing. Let me tell you the federal governement knows how to throw a party for Columbus (I heard he didn't torture either - so maybe they do have a lot in common!). Hubby and I made up, he even brought me home flowers and a nice card last night. I am leaving early today, we're going shopping before we pick up the baby, and planning on making a big dinner for "the night of power" tonight. Have a great day everyone!

We are too!

Work today...I had been out 2 days sick last week and didn't actually know if I had work today...I was talking to Ramy while driving down and I was like "yeah....I have no idea if I have work but I have a keys so I may as well go in and make up some work...."

When I got here I actually found my set of work keys on my desk...I was so sick Friday I had no idea I left them here!! Good thing most of my coworkers were here too otherwise I would have driven down for nothing! hahahaa. It's a slow day today.

I go for my second wedding dress fitting tonight! :D

My grandmother is still in the hospital. I didn't visit much last week because I was sick, but the hospital is actually keeping her heavily sedated. She's recovering nicely though, they just don't want her to pull out her IVs and tubes and whatever and yell at all the nurses.

Divorced. To hell with him.

How do they figure that tonight is the night of power? I could never figure that one out.

This is a rough day for me. :( It's my first birthday without my dad. He was always the first one to call me in the morning and tell me what a wonderful day it was because I was born. It's been a very hard weekend for me as this is about the same time that he started to get very sick last year.

My sweet hubby did call me this morning though. He said he would stand in for my dad. I just bawled when he said that.

It's a bittersweet day... :(

Duh Monday.

I am not all that excited about Monday. Tommorrow I will be equally non-participative. (is that a real word?) In fact, tommorrow will be one of those days...........I should start self-medicating today in preparation. Anyone want to go for a ride with me tommorrow 9am?

I need to put in an appearance today at my 2 builders, measure a few houses and take pics. I put the new construction pics on my laptop screensaver so when my boss walks past my desk,,he thinks I am so busy and keeps going. (he has no clue I am either on VJ or SL  )

Jackie (F)

doodle- it can be any of the last 10 nights of Ramadan. Not feasible I guess to observe every night, so one is picked and 1 out of 10 chance you get the right one. If I am mistaken, someone please clarify.

So the story is there are 2 main hadiths that talk about it. One says that it is the 27th day of Ramadan, another says that it's anytime in the last 10 days of Ramadan. But I think for clarity's sake usually one day is chosen in the last 10 days. It's sort of strange because with so much controversey over when Ramadan officially starts there usually is little controversey over this date.

So what exactly do you all do on this night then? I know my husband's cousin takes ten days off and stays in the mosque for the full ten days. Hubby visited him at fajr the other morning to hit him up with some bigtime duas for our visa so hopefully that will work.
