Hi all. I have a question about change of address. I live in San Diego, CA. I'm planning to buy a property and move to other address, but within San Diego. Me and my fiance just got a NOA1 on 09/07/07. My fiance keep telling me its going to cause a problems to us if I do that. Can somebody tell me more about it? Thank you very much.

It varies, some people have been able to change an address with no problems, while others have problems. The closer you are to receiving NOA2 the more likely that it will be sent to the wrong address. After NOA2 it doesn't matter anymore.

It's a ####### shoot. What I did was to talk to my postman and explain how important it was that I get any mail from USCIS addressed to me or my wife. Since he knew me and the circumstances, he took care of it. The fact is though that missing your NOA2 will not delay your K visa process. You'll need that NOA2 for AOS though and you have to file a form and pay a hefty fee to get it replaced.

Missing an RFE, can completely derail your process.

So as everybody saying here it's beter wait for NOA2 correct? After that I can change my address with no problems and it won't delay the process. Did I understand right?

Yes, the address of the petitioner is no longer important once you receive your NOA2.
