I have a question about:

The third item down under”YOU MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS”

Says: A completed Affidavit(s) of Support (Form I-864) with all required evidence, including the following, for each of your sponsors (unless already submitted):

Federal Income Tax returns and W-2”s, or certified IRS printouts, for the last 3 years;

Letters from each current employer, verifying current rate of pay and average weekly hours, and pay stubs for the past 2 months;

Evidence of your sponsor’s and/or co-sponsors United States Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status.

Do we need to bring any of these items since we already did this for the AOS 485?

Please let me know.

Since you submitted everything, probably nothing will be asked for. But bring the copies and originals just in case (like birth certificates etc) (hopefully you made a copy of the entire AOS packet!).

Often they ask for the marriage certificate so make sure you bring a copy and the original of that too. :yes:

Better safe than sorry! :thumbs:

You have to bring EVERYTHING listed with you. Our cosponsors I-864 was included in the original packet but the IO still wanted to see my copy.

Thanks all. I really did not make copies of the entire AOS packet because I didn't know I had to. However, I think I can put something together. I wish USCIS would tell you what you need to do for the entire process instead of telling you at each stage. If they did that, I would have made all the copies I needed the first time.

It feels so crazy that they want the same forms and or papers over and over.

When I was applying for the K-1 I had a lawyer who told me to submit the originals. We lost many of our original documents this way.

There is a woman here in Arizona named Sidney Hay who is running for Congress. She said one of her first priorities is going to streamline the legal immigration process and reduce paperwork. i.e. The paperwork reduction act.

OMG I hope you called that lawyer to tell him what an idiot he was and what that cost you. I also sent in my last original copy of my birth certificate. I easily ordered more from the Records Bureau, but they were like $30 each.

I think if you ask at the interview, they can return some of the orignials.

I had copies of the whole packet and originals etc. all he asked about I864 was if anything had changed - my answer was 'no' and he didn't ask for anything other than copies of visa cards, copies of bank statements, copies of health insurance papers and that's it (didn't look at pictures either). So do not worry too much, take what you have but as others have said it why would you ever send originals unless you had multiple originals. And yes he made copies of our visa and health insurance cards and gave us back the original cards; so - you can ask for your originals - explain that they were sent in error and could you have them back. Good Luck

They may have, but the interview letters still say 3 years worth.

Yes, I would bring at least a current paycheck stub. We went to interview believing we already submitted everything we need to for the I-485 and the officer gave us a hard time for not having at least a recent paycheck stub. Her reason was, how were they to know I still worked there.
