We've decided to book the Dauphin. It's about 2 blocks from the consulate, the price is right, and it looks nice! I'll be sure to let you all know my thoughts after we stay there.

We have booked the Travelodge. It's not that far from the consulate.

It's about $79/night if you book with Hotels.com.

Ooh, the Hyatt/related hotels price is dropping on Hotwire, I should keep my eyes on it.

Otherwise, it'll probably be the Hilton and related hotels according to them.

I booked at the Hilton Garden Inn. Looks really nice, 8 min walk to the consulate according to google and there were no "terrible" reviews on trip advisor.

Has anyone had experience with La Tour Centre-Ville? It is literally within a block of the consulate, and averages only $79 per night for a room with a Queen bed.

Some people have had no problems with it, but I saw on trip advisor that there's bed bugs, that's why we didn't book there. We have pretty high standards too.

Theres reviews for that on here! I stayed there. It was Ok, nothing special, and it was ok for me, but if my have had come to the interview, would have stayed at a nicer hotel. It had a kitchenette, bed was so so. Small swimming pool. I think there are better values to be had close by! It is probably the closest hotel to the Consulate, but beats out others by only a few minutes. if i were ever to go back to Mtl, couldn't see myself staying there,lol not that it is horrible, just that there are nicer hotels to be had

I just got back last night from Montreal (stayed two nights at a hotel, and three with a girlfriend of mine)...

I stayed at Hotel L'Appartement on Sherbrook Street West... Hotel L'Appartement

It's right across from the Hilton Garden Inn and a Marriott.

It was definitely not the Ritz, but nice and clean and close to the consulate ( and pretty much everything else!) -- about an 8 minute walk -- and it has free Wi-Fi and free breakfast in the mornings.

I'm pretty sure all the rooms have little kitchens (mine did) which is nice to put some wine for celebrating (or drowning your sorrows) after your interview:-)

I think I paid about $120 a night... (For some reason, when I was looking for a hotel, I couldn't find any of the uber cheap deals everyone else seems to I think maybe I just waited to late to book or something....)

Staff were friendly... no complaints here! I'd recommend it... unless you want/need something a little fancier :-)

about a 14 minute walk to the consulate according to google maps...

free breakfast and the rooms are nice and clean and have a kitchenette.

no reports of bedbugs (THEE most important consideration!)

We s tayed there back in March for Mel's interview. As Flames said, it's not bad, but certainly not a 4 star hotel. Our only complaint about it was no t.v., and it was during spring break for a lot of kids, so there were some annoying 17 year olds always smoking pot. If I were going to visit Montreal (which I never will), I would prefer to stay somewhere else. But for the purpose of staying there one night to get up early and go to an interview the next morning, I thought it was a great deal. Close to the train station, and even closer to the consulate.

As i stated I stayed there and it was acceptable. Needs modernization big time!!! But you can do much better
