I stayed in the La Tour because of the location (if you have strong abs you could probably spit on the consulate if you horked really hard .... ) and found it to be clean, liked the kitchen, and the staff were very nice.

Also, my stay there was about $90 for one night.

On a whim, I made a reservation through Travelocity to stay at the Hôtel le Crystal for 4 days. I just love trying new hotels that is not widely franchised around the world. I took a look at location on Google Map and it seems to be only a few minutes walk to the US Embassy. I will certainly be writing up some reviews about my stay and the heated indoor pool!

Wow. Very European.

It was really nice and an easy walk around the corner to the consulate but I barely remember anything about the room because I was up all night freaking out!! Hubby seemed to have no prob sleeping, but I just thought about the interview all night.

We stayed at Hotel XIX which was a 15-20 minute walk even in the snow storm they had....we were very happy with our room. Boutique hotel in Old Montreal with many restaurants within walking distance.

Less than $115/night booked online via hotels.com

I have to say...whenever I travel for business, I always look up my destination in www.tripadvisor.com......

I stayed at the Sheraton on Rene-Leveques. Normally it is very expensive but my sister and I got a double room for 109.00 per night. I'm guessing the room was cheap because i did tons of searching on the internet for deals AND it was the off season for Montreal. This hotel is very close to the consulate and we really enjoyed it particularly because it was so cold outside. We utilized the gym, pool, and hot tub which was a really nice bonus.

I was going to stay at the old hat Centre Ville but the Sheraton was like the same price so why the hell not!!!

We're at the Days Inn Downtown, but we also rented a car since we are staying thru the week and since cars are so cheap to rent now, way cheaper than a taxi and freedom to go to the casino obv. Pretty confusing if you're driving though lol. Lots of construction going on by the consulate though, so watch out for detours. Might be too far to walk to the consulate due to the winter weather starting. Up the road a bit on the same street (rene - levesque), but a little closer to the consulate, there is a holiday in express and a travel lodge i saw.

Hi,

My husband used priceline.com and bid for our hotel and got our hotel for $80 +tax = $100US for a one night stay at Hyatt a 3 1/2 to 4 star hotel when we went for my interview this week. And as soon as we checked in we we're upgraded to a nicer room by the receptionist. The hotel is clean with restaurant in the hotel and around the area, pool and I believe a spa service like massage. It has a link to a mall too. It's 2 blocks and 1 street turn from the US Consulate office along St. Catherine St.
