True...BUT, La Tour HAS had them...fairly recently, too. So that's a definitive "has had them" rather than a "could have them". I'll take the "could have them" over "does / has had them" any day!

And I'm staying at Dauphin.

Sooo...looks like those two choices are good ones, wmtc, endorsed by the Frog and the Torch.

We were planning to stay there 4 days,we went with Wyatt't choice, no offense froggie; but we only got it for one nite. So this is what i did, I booked a room at the Dauphin for one nite 03/10-03/11, cause apparently their sold out for the weekend. and got 2 night's at the Delta Montreal. both walking distance to the Embassy.

Dauphin- $103 with tax for 1 Night's

Delta- $195 with tax for 2 night's

It takes you 5 hours to get to Toronto from Windsor?? We obviously don't drive at the same speed. LOL (Me 3.5) It honestly depends on the day of the week that you're driving. Monday/Tuesday everyone is gung ho and the roads will clear by 10:00am. (Well..... as clear as Toronto traffic gets, that is. lol) By Wednesday they're fed up with work already so they tend to leave a little later. But there's a small window of opportunity to get through Toronto without any hassle. You want to time it so that you're hitting the outskirts no earlier than 10:00am but no later than 1:00pm.

Disclaimer: Rain or snow will severely impact traffic..... Timeframes stated only apply to clear days. LOL

We hit the area around 11am when we drove and it was insane. Honestly, sleep in a couple of hours... it likely won't make much of a difference if you're only reason for leaving so early is to avoid the rush.

I agree. Sleep in; leave later. You'll be sitting the same amount of time in traffic that you could have had in bed.

Apparently there's computer with free internet in each room. That's a huge plus for me, since I don't have a laptop.

That means you'll have to let us know if you got approved as soon as you get back to your room!

Heh, that's what I did. When we got back to the hotel, we had their measly breakfast then went back to the room, where Ben crashed immediately (getting up at five unnecessarily doesn't agree with him) and I jumped on VJ.

Do you happen to recall what the check-out time was? My flight doesn't leave until 6:00 that night, so I'd like to chill there for a bit after the interview... I'll still be on West-Coast time too, which means that mentally I'll be getting up at the equivalent of 2:30 AM or so...

I'd also like to go back and pick up my visa that same day, but we'll see if they let me. I mean it IS a Friday...

Check in is 3pm, check out is noon. Looked it up on the confirmation.

There is a really nice lobby downstairs, though, with a great deal of seating, so if you explain the predicament, perhaps they'll let you chill down there, at the very least?

Okay, noon's not so bad. I should be out of my interview well before then, I think. I generally handle jetlag quite well anyhow. I mainly want to have the room so that I can let y'all know whether I passed or failed.

Hotel Dauphin does late checkout on request when u check in, if is not busy that is!!!, so it wont hurt to ask them when u check in for a late checkout
