Bonjour,

I just received an appointment letter and there are three doctors in Paris listed for the medical appointment: Meyers, Leparc and Slattery. Who would you recommend for a painless (in more than one sense) medical exam?

Grand merci!

Thank you!

I ended up making an appointment with Dr Leparc, since he seemed to be more organized...

he gave me a list of what I need to bring to the medical (passport, photo, X-ray, vaccination records) and he was fully aware that it is for the US embassy.

When I tried scheduling with Dr. Slattery the secretary kept asking me if I am a first time patient, after I told her I am coming from a far away town for a medical for a US embassy. Hmmm...

So I guess I am the only one going through Dr Leparc then?

I'll post my experience then!

Rika

As announced... my medical with Dr. Leparc

Medical was quick - I'd say about 30 min and I found myself 150 euro lighter.

He speaks English very well and is indeed very well organized, professional and nice. He asks to bring X-rays and proof of vaccinations; the bloodwork he does himself and if you are afraid of being poked with needles - he's the guy you want, very good hands. Do expect to undress down to underwear

The office is located in a charming neighborhood...

I highly recommend Dr. Leparc!

hello,

I'd like to know if X rays need to be done before actually going to see one of the 3 doctors? Cause I figured they don't have anything at the doctor's office to take x rays, in France you need to go to special mediacal centers to get x rays usually. Also, if youre mising some shots, can one of the 3 doctors give you the shots or do you need to go back to see you regular doctor, have the shots and then come back to see the "VISA" doctor?

thx,

Fred

Yes, you have to get your bloodwork done, and your x-ray done first.

My husband used Meyers. Good luck!

thanks for the reply but I don't understand what I should ask? Just chest x rays and any kind of blood test? God I love my country, the minute the papers arrived in france nothing was clear...Should I go first to the "VISA doctors" hear from them what I really need and then go back again to give what I was missing? Thank god I live just near Paris...

Call the doctor to make the appointment. They will then send you a confirmation with instructions and a map that shows where to get blood and x-ray done. You should complete the bloodwork and x-ray before your appointment. (This is what Dr. Meyers did, I can't speak for the others.)
