Help my wife needs to go back home, she received her Green Card but nothing about an I 551 stamp in her passport. Does she need the stamp or just the green card to return to the US?

Thanks

If she has the green card in hand, no need for the I-551 stamp in passport, she's good to do.

if passport is her maiden name, should bring copy of marriage certificate.

The GREEN-CARD IS the I-551. The stamp is only given at the POE for immigrant visas to cover time between entry and getting the card, or is given after a successful AOS interview to cover the time from interview and getting the card.

You have the card, you do not need the stamp.

If passport has maiden name, get the plane tickets in maiden name. The green-card is used to re-enter the USA.

If card and passport have different family name carry a copy of marriage cert to show the name change.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
