Our k3 case is at the US embassy in Costa Rica and ready for interview.

Our CR case is currently at NVC (we are waiting for DS 230 and I 864 to arrive)

1) How long do you think the CR case has until being completed and sent to the embassy, assuming we send in all info promptly and according to instructions?

2) Is there any way to get a CR interview (i.e. replace our k3 interview) even though our CR case is still at the NVC?

A crazy idea, but doesn't hurt to ask...

Thanks for any help.

The only way to get a CR1 interview in place of the K3 is when both are approved and at the embassy. If your CR1 gets approved and you are still waiting on the K3 interview you can ask them to change the interview to the CR1. In the past the NVC takes 2-4 weeks once the DS and I-864 are back at NVC before they are approved barring no RFE's. Good luck.

The I-130 case file must be on station for a CR or IR interview to take place.

Hi

Today I sent my I 130 to Vermont service center. I understand you are also depending on the Costa Rica U.S. embassy. What has your experience been with the embassy in Costa Rica?

Thanks

Kristy
