I used Sevenseas Worlwide for my shipping, they were cheap and quick. They supply all of the boxes, labels and packing tape etc

We used Excess Baggage after getting recommendations on this site. They were great -- gave us tons of boxes and (I kid you not) 300m of bubble wrap, and they were good at getting in touch when info was needed from us. The movers on both ends were fantastic and really helpful, and I got text messages and phone calls to alert me to their imminent arrival. It took 6 weeks to get from London to Connecticut. Top marks!!!

I'm using PPS to ship 4 boxes to Louisiana. It's getting picked up next week so I cant recommend them just yet. I'll write a full review once my stuff arrives, or gets lost (whichever is first) :D

I used a company called Anglo Pacific. They've been great so far. We did it sea freight and should arrive in 6-8 weeks. I called around and it was the best rate I found for door to door service.

If it's really not a lot of stuff look into something like UPS or Fedex. It took 4 days to arrive and I didn't even have to be in the country. But, the main company people seem to use over and over is Excess Baggage for your kind of stuff. I've never seen a bad word said against them, but plenty about other odd shipping companies.

I've just posted this elsewhere but worth pointing out - Did you know that expenses incurred moving house (including from outside of the US to the US) are tax deductible?

I'm not the USC so maybe i'm over excited and this is perfectly common knowledge, but it sure takes the sting out of paying for the movers!!

Yes I am also using Excess baggage - I am still packing etc and they do provide alot of boxes and bubble wrap etc - I am just abit concerned with the paperwork - or is that just me?? lol I cant seem to work out what value in price I am supposed to give my items - I do have lots of books and Cds but I have ornaments which are totally irreplaceable in my eyes as they have alot of sentimental value to me (given to me as presents from my sister that has passed away now) how the hell am i to price these things???

We got a quote from Excess Baggage, but priced the same thing out as unaccompanied luggage with Virgin because we fly with them, and it wound up being a great deal (several hundred £££'s) cheaper.

since I was in England Neil and I both just brought 2 each of the biggest suitcases we could find in the shops on the airplane plus small rolling carry ons. I didn't have much with me of my own so we were able to bring everything he wanted to bring with him and not have to pay for shipping any items. After we found out how much it would cost to send things Neil thought it would be better and cheaper just to buy all new things when he got here.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.
