Wait time between Packet 3 sent and Packet 4 received from London Embassy

We are applying for a K1 Visa, my fiance sent in Packet 3 around September 3rd. It's been a month now and she hasn't received packet 4. We are going to call them on Monday. Has anybody had to wait this long before?

One thing that might complicate it, we extended our NVS approval with the embassy due to a medical issue, and told them in two separate letters sent that she would like her interview sometime mid-November. Would they hold packet 4 and send it closer to a mid-November interview time requested? Just curious what others have experienced, we're a bit nervous now. It seems that everyone typically gets their Packet 4 two weeks after sending in Packet 3 and the interview date is a month away...

02/03/06: Met in Mexico!

04/25/08: Sarah entered US @ Dallas POE - NO PROBLEMS!

05/23/08: Applied for SS#

05/23/08: Marriage License

05/30/08: Received SS card

06/07/08: Wedding

06/20/08: Applied for new SS# with married name

06/27/08: Received new SS card with married name

06/30/08: I-485 AOS packet sent to Chicago

07/01/08: I-485 AOS packet received by CHIBA/RECEPTION (1 day)

07/08/08: I-485 check cashed by USCIS (9 days)

07/11/08: Received NOA's - 4 letters - I-485 NOA, EAD NOA, AP NOA, Biometrics Appt. (12 days)

07/29/08: Biometrics Appt. 11am (30 days)

07/29/08: I-485 Application transferred to CSC (30 days)

08/04/08: Received Transfer Notice in mail from CSC (36 days)

09/03/08: Touched - Email - I-485 AOS Card Production Ordered (66 days)

09/04/08: Touched - Email - Notice mailed welcoming new permanent resident (67 days)

09/04/08: Received AP in the mail (67 days)

09/05/08: Touched - Email - EAD approved (68 days)

09/08/08: Received EAD in the mail (71 days)

09/09/08: Touched - Email - I-485 AOS Approval Notice Sent (72 days)

09/09/08: Received notice in the mail welcoming new permanent resident (72 days)

Medical appointment 1/31/09. husband loses RFE paper same day.

New RFE paper requested on 2/4/09.

New RFE paper received 2/28/09..gee good thing that RFE isnt due til beginning of April!!!!!!

Send RFE reply 3/3/08

EAD Approval was NOT updated online. We had an infopass meeting for 3/6 and then the EAD shows up in the mail on 3/5!!!! cancelled appointment,

all i have to say is #######.

Ok, good to know, we asked that our interview date be around mid-November so I'm thinking she should get packet 4 any day now. We are going to call the US Embassy today just to confirm everything, will let ya'll know what they say about what's happening with the mail.

I put this up in another thread for Postal Service Delays, but here's more info if you are getting worried about the strikes...

DETAILS ON GETTING THROUGH TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT

Don't waste your money calling the US Embassy in London. Call the State Department in the US...it's free, other than the long distance charges...we just did it this morning, here are the details on how to get through the recorded menus:

Call (202) 663-1225

Press "1"

Press "0" for a Visa Specialist (of course they don't bother to tell you this on the menu)

Our wait time was about 15 minutes. It will either tell you to hold on the line, or hang up and try again.

Give your case number (LND....)

Give your fiance's name

Give your name

They can tell you the status, what day the last packet was sent and what the interview date is...We just found out that the final packet 4 was sent TODAY! Sarah sent off packet 3 on September 4th-ish so it took a little over a month. Her interview is scheduled for November 1st! We were jumping up and down happy!

Glad you have the news you were waiting for, the State Department number has been mentioned many times on here and it is the one to use as international calls to the US are much cheaper than UK premium rate calls. They don't seem to mind at all calls coming in from the UK, I found them really helpful last year.

I CALLED DEPT OF STATE TODAY!!!!

apparently they just scheduled our interview which is on November 6th!!!!!!!!!!
