Hi, I'm wondering if there are any shops out there that sell squash (UK-er's will be familiar with the term lol). For non-UK-er's squash is like a cordial, where you dilute the syrup with water to drink. We've been buying things like crystal light etc but it's just not the same! Has anyone been able to buy squash from a store over here???

I've been wondering the same thing, Nicola. And no luck so far, except at my local British store, they sell Vimto, Ribena (very expensive!) and Robinsons. But I've yet to find an alternative in the regular stores here.

I've seen Robionsons orange barley in our local World Market but its quite pricey. I'm picking up my parents and sister from the airport this afternoon and I've been told that most of my dads case is filled with Chocolate Digestives and Robinsons Orange Squash !! :dance: :dance:

My USC fiance had no idea what 'squash' was....he made a ScrewDriver with a glass full of undiluted orange squash once :lol::lol:

He says 'cool aid' is the closest thing....but it isn't the same.... :no:

Desi (Indian/Pakistani/Bangla) stores sell squash (mind you, the brands they carry will generally be Kissan or Dipy's).

LMAO Don't start! I have enough of that to deal with my darling husband! He's always giving me hell about some of the words I use!!!

I don't really enjoy drinking those jumbo packs of fruit juices (argh I looked at the sugar and calorie content, shocking!) or fizzy drinks (i'd like to keep hold of my teeth!)... Cool aid and crystal light are definately not the same as squash, but I guess it'll do for now! I can't justify paying $10 for Ribena whilst I'm not working lol

I still have not tried squash. But as I'm planning a summer trip to Blighty, I'm sure I'll be downing it by the truckload!

$10? It costs $7 on namaste.

Are you close to the Canada border at all? Ribena is available ubiquitously (I've seen it at Real Canadian Superstore, Co-op and "trashway"--my nomenclature for "Safeway"--in Calgary).

Publix has some British stuff and imports and I think they have barley water and squash... I haven't bought any though because it's very expensive. The closest I could come to cordial was lemonade diluted with water to make it less strong...
