I had the worst experience last night at Davids Bridal.

You know just moving here and all I don't have many female friends to go with to try on dresses with so I decided to go it alone. I had a 7:30 appointment, and I only chose a weekday because they said I would get better one and one consultation. I figured with no help from friends/family, I would need the help. So I went in and was actually early for my appointment. But they were late....by almost 15 minutes. No big deal. I understand I'm not the only person in the world.

So the consultant comes up to me, and I already have my dresses picked out, I figure I am a breeze of a customer, I just need her to pull out my size and lead me to a change room. But she's really rude, and rushes me through everything, but lucky I am a step ahead of the game as I have already researched what dresses I want to try on.

She gets me my dresses and leads me to a change room. She leaves and comes back with a strapless bra (community store bra lol) for me to wear, but doesn't just hand it to me, she just tosses it at me and says: "Here's your bra!" and then tells me to put on and that she'll be right back.

So I put on the bra and I am basically standing there in this change room with this bra and my shorts on waiting for this woman to come back.

5 minutes....10 minutes....15 minutes...its getting a little chilly....and then all of a sudden I can hear chuckling and I turn around and theres two little girls peeking at me through the curtain laughing.

I couldnt believe it! I got dressed right away and walked out.

But of course being the emotional person I am, I got out into the parking lot and just started bawling because its all just new to me, and I feel like I am already in over my head.

Anyways I called and complained, you know I was planning on getting my entire wedding parties outfits there. Now I won't.

Make sure you put your complain in writing too, with a breakdown of how much you were prepared to spend. I'd even march right back there today and speak to the manager face to face. The way you were treated is unacceptable! Picking out wedding stuff is stressful enough, without dealing with crappy salespeople along the way. Sorry you had to deal with that!!!

just remember, be nice and calm when explaining your complaints to the manager.. if you go postal on him, you'll get jack from him..

I agree. Get it in writing and make sure you mention exactly WHO was supposed to be doing your consultation. It was appalling how you were treated and I'm sure the management don't actually condone that sort of behaviour.

Let us know how you get along. :)

What was the store's reply? I would write to the actual David's Bridal corporate. What a ####### way to treat someone who is planning for a wedding day.

Yep i would agree.. write the local manager, but also cc corporate.. so they know you mean it..

looked up some info for you. that you listed above sounds like a horrible experience! i cannot find anything regarding a customer service complaint line but i did find their public relations people.

David's Bridal PR agency of record, Lippe Taylor, at 212-598-4400 or DBPRinfo@lippetaylor.com. Ask for Charly Rok (x155) or Maris Callahan (x164).

I am going to write a letter today.

Last night the manager apologized and asked if I would consider coming back. I was very calm in talking to her on the phone last night. I told her that unfortunately I planned on bringing my business elsewhere but I just wanted to make her aware of the situation. Yes, I think they would have made about $1500.00+ off of me.

I wanted to confront the consultant right then and there, but when I get angry, I get really choked up and I start to cry and I didn't want to run to her and start blubbering.

I am just not a dress person, I don't wear dresses or skirts...so trying on a wedding dress...I am completely clueless! All I wanted was a little more help.

Thank you soo much! I called a toll free number lastnight that they had on their website and was put through directly to the store.

This is even better though. Thank you again!

You're amazing!

Hey its just outside of Philly, I could go there myself! But i'll abstain.

I am going to type up a formal letter today and send it.

But you know its true what they say for customer service, you just don't know the customers story, so its best to treat every single one with care. And I plan on telling people about David's bridal from now on.

My fiance said that David's Bridal doesn't isn't exactly a great place to go. But I had no clue, I thought it looked okay. But like I said before I am clueless.

From now on I plan on going with his mother. No more trips to bridal shops alone.

what's interesting is that about the corporate headquaters was not on their site but i found it twice on other sites that list business addresses.......maybe there's a good reason why they don't have it on their own website

Wow poor you. I understand that feeling. I hate shopping myself and being alone here with no friends isn't easy. I had to rely on my husband's family for everything at the wedding. Driving me there, brining me to the hair salon, etc, etc. I am so used to take charge of everything and felt like a total stranger. It settles with time, but to prepare for a wedding is a big thing. Good that your fiance's mother will help you :)

I did buy my wedding dress before I left back in Montreal, and had a really bad experience. Bunch of old italian ladies were running that store, and when I entered they were barely talking to me. I wanted a simple dress, nothing too fancy, and it's almost like I wasn't worthed to their eyes. They started talking in Italian and I couldn't understand, then they were laughed and then brought mew few dresses. I said I was looking for a white dress and they brought me cream, then I said something not too big and brought me that really puffy dress. They were making fun of me. I left really angry. Didn't care much to complain as they are a lot of bridal boutiques on that street, so I just went somewhere else, But I don't understand how people can be so careless knowing that a wedding is an important day and to find a dress can be very stressfull.

Let us know if you have any feedback after you write that complain! I'm curious to know if they will make anything out of it.

I will!

I was wondering if maybe it's because I look young, maybe they didn't take me seriously. I get that a lot in stores and I always assume it's because I don't look my age at all. Which everyone says is a great thing, but it has done nothing but given me trouble in a world where young people are looked down upon.

It's no excuse obviously, but I am just wondering why she gave so much attention to another bride who was down a few change rooms and pretty much ignored me. I made an appointment for a reason.

Yeah I got that too sometimes. I am small, I sometimes look even younger because the way I do my hair. I am 26 and can easily be mistaken for 17-18. Also I don't like to wear high heels or "designer" clothes, just a blue jeans and t-shirt. So no I don't look like "hey I might want to spend big money here". But I think that judging people. You never know who will be your best customer.
