Hi all...nothing new on my end and congrats to the folks that are getting moved through the system. I have to get my wife out of Jordan as her 3 month visa is up, so we are heading ot London for a week. Just an interesting fact. I applied for a basic tourist visa for my wife to the UK on Thursday and received the 6 month/multiple entry visa on Sunday. Amazing the Brits can move so quickly. Beautiful day in Amman today so get out and enjoy it if you are here! :-)

Neal, when your wifes visa is up, you can extend it thru the police station headquarters in jabal amman behind the hotels.....its free, and doesnt take a whole lot of time....maybe 45 mins....if you have a copy of your marriage contract and a family book, its very simple....they will give her another 3 months, then, after those 3 months, u just file with the ministry of foreign affairs.....flying to another country is a nice get away, but for the future, just so u know...

Well I know extending for me isn't an issue...but i've got the "iraqi" factor with her. I wanted to get her to see another country before we hit the US, due to the fact she is 3 months pregnant. This is a good chance to see somewhere else...even though it tends to be a bit more chilly up there. I am hoping this is the last time the visa issue will come up. As my local police station is a pain.

Hi everybody. Well, I had a wreck today. I was in the turning lane to turn left and i was passing the cars. And a women in the right lane was letting a women go in front of her from a store to go into the other lane and she hit me in the side. She knocked me into the left lane. Thank God no one was coming in the other direction. I thought my Tahoe would be torn up because she hit me so hard. I got out and looked at the other car. Her front end was completely knocked off her car. and parts of her car was all over the road. No one was injured, Alhamdullilah. I was shocked to see my tahoe was not damaged to bad. She did not have any insurance. She told me she could pay for the damage. She did not want me to turn it into the insurance. The police came and wrote the report and she received a citation. Her car was towed and I drove off. My neck and my shoulder are now a little sore. I guess I will get an estimate Monday and call her. If she comes up with the money to repair it I will not turn the claim in.

Dollface, hope you feel better. sorry you dont feel well. I wonder to, if it is maybe gallstone trouble. (F)

Lostinlove, I know your excited that you will be with you love soon. I have 19 day until I see mine. It is a wonderful feeling isnt it? I wish I was leaving tomorrow.

Glad you are feeling better!

Thanks everyone for your help....I saw the doc here and she did some kind of breath test to determine bacteria or acid levels or something....anyways the medicine i got yesterday i have only taken one dose and i feel a million times better, i expect to be 100% fine after i finish up these meds....its my own fault though i eat spicy foods for breakfast lunch and dinner..and very acidy drinks....i had to stop....well i learned my lesson!

Well my wife is Iraqi and ever since the hotel bombs things have been a little more difficult. Like Jordanian immigration folks only issuing 2 day visas at the ports of entry for Iraqi's. I had quite a fight at the airport the last time we traveled to Egypt. They wanted to stick her in a line of 50 other iraqis and send me on my way...so needless to say there was a scene and we got a normal 1 month stamp in her passport. Just being an Iraqi in Jordan is not as "comfortable" as it once was. I have noticed the number of baghdad plated cars in Amman drop off significantly in the past two months. For awhile the police were downtown with paddywagons...just loading up every Iraqi they found by the ampitheater and giving them a free ride to the border. And yeah...I'm expecting cold...brrr. :-)

Talk to Faisal today and heard the weather was great today, he had a chance to go on the roof and sit for awhile.

I know it's hard on the Iraqi's there, I had seen that myself when I was there in December/January. Wishing you the best Neal. It's not exactly tea time for the American's either. LOL

Still packing and getting sick over the mold in the house ladies. Four more days to go till the move! First thing is, I will hook up my computer, can't stand to not see my husband!

Hello Angel,

Glad to have an update from you. Well our 45 business days were over with last week. I emailed the embassy and they never responded. Ishteaq called them and said it is still being processed. I called DOS and they are saying it is at embassy level so no AR checks have been ordered at this time. I did contact the senator's office and asked them to see if there is anything they can tell us? The lady at the senator's office will contact me later. We are still on hold and waiting. Once I hear something I will post. I am here in the background cheering on the others and hoping to have alot of couples reunited.

Take care and hope Anmar is adjusting well.

Hugs,

Mary

Mary I hope the embassy gets on the ball there and makes a decision. I hate not knowning what the heck is going on. Anmar is doing fine he's been talking to a friend in Michigan and his cousin in Kansas who popped out of the woodwork, he also talked to amal's husband on the phone once.

I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines and checking in to see any news from you. (F)

Angel :luv:

Ok - I just got a Starbucks gift card and I know that there is a Starbucks in just about every country. Now I am sitting here wondering if I can use the gift card in lebanon. Can you guys tell how busy I am at work.

LOL is there really a Starbucks in Lebanon? There's a fake Starbucks in Casablanca, I don't think there's a real one though.

That's a bummer you have to work today, I got the day off....

Yes there is a starbucks in Lebanon. Last summer while I was there (no American Coffee, just the instant stuff) My fiance decided to get me coffee from starbucks. The poor guy did not know that I absolutly hate starbuck coffee. He brings a cup and I had to very nicely inform him that I don't drink starbucks and thank him the great gesture. But I would still like to see if I can use the gift card there.

You have Starbucks, KFC, TGIF, Pizza Hut, Mcdonalds, ect in lebanon. but with all that I'm not sure if the meat is Halal in those places.
