Icey, my co-sponsor's attorney told her that she could mail them to the embassy instead of giving them to us... I'm not going back over there before he has his interview unless something comes up and we're scared to mail it to him just because the mail there tends to get lost... anyway maybe you can find out about that and your co-sponsor can mail it to the embassy before his interview? Good luck!

Hmm.. my whole point of bringing them was to avoid mailing.. because DHL costs $80 one way..

Thanks everybody! I'm like, what do I do now? I took a lot of the documents and photos for the interview when I went to Algeria in March. I wrote an updated letter of intention, Got my bank letter for the affidavit of support. I did not take my original divorce papers to Algeria just in case I got an RFE for them. So I have to send them too. My most recent phone bills, skype history. recent chat history.... OMG, what am i forgetting!!! I am getting nervous now. oh yea photos from the last trip. whewwwww. (Deep breath)

And guess who is going to hand deliver them to Algeria?????........My friend Icey. Wouldn't be cool if she and Yacine could be there for Hachemi when he has his interview?

anyway, if anyone has any suggestions about something I forgot, Pleaseeee tell me.

Meriem (F)

With the way your petition has flown through CSC and the NVC, I'll probably be there for his interview too!

It doesn't take long from this point on! Our file was shipped on March 1, and we had our interview April 2! Good luck!!!! And Icey, when are you going to Algeria?

I am going from May 22nd until July 18th... incha'allah

Sorry, I'm just really PO'ed..

My co-sponsor wants to back off because he/she doesn't want me flying to Algeria with papers that have his/her banking/SSN information on it... gee.. when I told him/her in the beginning, they thought being a joint-sponsor is OK, but now when it comes down to the nitty gritty...

I had something similar happen to me recently and it really knocked me. I understand your upset. We got it worked through, thank god.

You know, its amazing the level of fear and prejudice people here carry for that part of the world, and most of it is blown way out of proportion. Maybe if you can soothe your co-sponsor's nerves with some facts and guarantees she will calm down. It's not like you're handing her personal information to anyone other then the US government (who has access to it at any time anyway).

I hope you iron it. You're in my prayers. Don't worry, these things have a way of working themselves out.

It is not about racism or prejudice to that area of the world at all... basic fact is that pick pockets target tourists ....

I'm doing my best to rectify the situation.. it'll work out incha'allah

While I'm on my soapbox... knowing that a lot of people here have moroccan SO's... and have to go through the Casa embassy... I was searching for the affadavit of support information on the US Consulate in Algiers.. and when looking under the ME/NA Consulates, I noticed there is a US Consulate in Rabat... has anyone gone through this consulate? According to the website, it does show they accept fiancé visa applicants... And I remember some time before some members talking about requesting their interview/case be sent to a different consulate... Could this be a possibility?

Good call, Iceyspots... I wonder what the possibility is for this... and why it hasn't been brought up sooner? Perhaps someone w/ more knowledge on the situation can answer this. Is this a possibility anyone?

grrrrrr.....family sucks... so my brother and his girlfriend come over last night, they wanted to go to their friends house who lives about an hour away... girlfriend's car headlights dont work so they wanted to borrow my truck.. I said no problem, as long as girlfriend drives because I know that my brother will drink.. well.. they got into a fight... and girlfriend left him there, alone... and my brother's friend was drunk so he couldn't drive him home and had to work the next morning... so.. girlfriend has my truck, and I brought my brother home to his apartment, and his girlfriend is NOT there, and STILL has my truck. cheeze.. not answering her cell phone either, it's shut off... $(*&%@(*$&%(*&@)($#^

Icy I think it has been over 12 hours already! Have you drove the route that she may of taken or checked her job? I know my husband that passed was a cop. I would go ahead and check these out and if you have with no luck I would contact the police. Good luck.

I recieved a prompt callback and her telling me the car is coming...
