Honeyblonde,

 That mirror story is too funny  If I sat on the toilet to do my business and looked up to see that picture of myself, I think I'd pass out. That's just not something I would want to see. I'm glad you lived thru that :lol:

Oh My god that is horrible. What are you gonna do ?!? Is it too late or what ? If I was you Id make it clear to that person how important being a co-sponser is and how much it will set you back to find new one. Cant he give you his things in locked case or something ? I dont know ... good luck.

Thanks everybody! I'm like, what do I do now? I took a lot of the documents and photos for the interview when I went to Algeria in March. I wrote an updated letter of intention, Got my bank letter for the affidavit of support. I did not take my original divorce papers to Algeria just in case I got an RFE for them. So I have to send them too. My most recent phone bills, skype history. recent chat history.... OMG, what am i forgetting!!! I am getting nervous now. oh yea photos from the last trip. whewwwww. (Deep breath)

And guess who is going to hand deliver them to Algeria?????........My friend Icey. Wouldn't be cool if she and Yacine could be there for Hachemi when he has his interview?

anyway, if anyone has any suggestions about something I forgot, Pleaseeee tell me.

Meriem (F)

With the way your petition has flown through CSC and the NVC, I'll probably be there for his interview too!

It doesn't take long from this point on! Our file was shipped on March 1, and we had our interview April 2! Good luck!!!! And Icey, when are you going to Algeria?

I had something similar happen to me recently and it really knocked me. I understand your upset. We got it worked through, thank god.

You know, its amazing the level of fear and prejudice people here carry for that part of the world, and most of it is blown way out of proportion. Maybe if you can soothe your co-sponsor's nerves with some facts and guarantees she will calm down. It's not like you're handing her personal information to anyone other then the US government (who has access to it at any time anyway).

I hope you iron it. You're in my prayers. Don't worry, these things have a way of working themselves out.

Wow Icey, that is lousy luck. Hopefully you'll be able to reassure the person that they have nothing to worry about. I know the judge that married us was ignorant enough (only in the "not-knowing" sense) to ask me in the pre-marital counseling interview he did with me all those stupid questions about being kidnapped and stuff. I was patient with him and told him I wasn't worried, but I was quite shocked that even a judge could be so unaware.

Masounna, I'm so sorry about your boss. That is definitely terrible news. I hope your paper comes out good and you had a great Cinco de Mayo party today.

I'm out of here kids, time to go home to my habibi who will drag me out in the 90 degree heat to play tennis. I should sweat off at least 10 pounds just from the walk to the tennis courts.

Icey, my co-sponsor's attorney told her that she could mail them to the embassy instead of giving them to us... I'm not going back over there before he has his interview unless something comes up and we're scared to mail it to him just because the mail there tends to get lost... anyway maybe you can find out about that and your co-sponsor can mail it to the embassy before his interview? Good luck!

What exactly do they think is going to happen?

Two things.. they think that I will get my backpack ripped off my back at the airport... OR.. the consular officer will conveniently steal the information and draw money out of the account... I tried to explain that so many people do this because they have to, and I've never heard about anyone being frauded... I mean.. it's the U.S. Government, you give your financial info and SSN to the IRS, but not to immigration ?
