Thanks ladies. Learning Arabic has been tough, I seriously only know maybe 30 words and they arent used in everyday situations, i just picked them up along the way......Writing it or reading it and pronouncing is soooo hard for me. i asked George about letting me do that and he is scared that if i am out doing things something will happen to me unless he is by my side and he is just too busy lol......yeah anyway so i think i may put an ad in the paper and offer english lessons in exchange for arabic lessons......who knows maybe ill even make a friend :) thanks again really

Thanks for posting again Jess.

I always like to read experiences about people living in other countries. Sure it sounds romantic until reality kicks in. It is good information to have here in case someone who reads it and decides to DCF will know what they may expect. Thanks again for sharing!!

Angel

Ok I seen Farah... How are things going??? Keep us updated on the transition... Thinking about you!

Also we haven't heard from Melody Jeanne..MJ any updates on the transition? keep us updated when you can.

Anyone else that disappeared after their SO got here???

JP had a fun time chatting to you on Yahoo!!!!

By the way we got a better loan deal thank god she explained everything and was very nice to us!

The house we wanted got bought :( It would have been a huge monthly payment for some funny reason we weren't too disappointed. I guess It was meant to be. I am glad i shopped around at the local mortgage companies and banks today. I learned alot today about buying house. . My credit score was awesome they keep telling me. . Thanks to capital one and dell :) By the way I think I'll shop around for a better realtor who I don't have to tell what to do. Nowadays seems like you have to go out and find the information for yourself.

Angel, if the realtor isn't doing their work, definitely replace them. They get a nice commission, and if they don't earn it they don't deserve it.

It's good you're learning a lot about the subject, so you don't get taken for a ride. Buying a house is something you don't do too many times in your life, so you want to do it right when you do, but obviously you know that.

So Farah, you've been lurking and not posting? I was just wondering how you were this week. Good to know you're still alive out there! ;)

Good Evening Ladies (F)

I was wondering. when you submitted your chat records with you package to embassy, did you just print out a page of the chat times/dates or did you include the full written records? We have alot of really personal stuff in there and I don't really want to comb through 1.5 years of chat records, do you guys have any input/recommendations on what I should send?

For those of you with upcoming weddings (L) I just went to Target and they have that dollar section (its usually by the enterance. They really have some cute things there for weddings, stuff for favors, gifts, guest books, pens, flowers, place card settings. They have a ton of stuff and its only $1! It's worth a gander.

Angel - I also enjoyed chatting with you earlier - don't worry you will find the house you want soon, everthing happens for a reason, so maybe you will find one you like better.

Jess - Hang in there girl, try to find ways to enjoy yourself there so that time will go by faster (F)

LB - I agree, time does not go by fast enough sometimes, and then when we are with our habibys its just flys by! Murphy's Law!!

I'm off to the gym now :star: Have a good nite!!! (F)

Hi JP

I'm pretty sure they're not interested in knowing every intimate detail of your entire relationship together.. so.. pick some chats/emails at random and use them. Make sure that you include something from the beginning of the relationship, to the middle, and towards around this time, to show that it's an ongoing relationship. Just use some samples of the ones where you didn't divulge a lot of personal stuff. Hope this helps. (F)

My personal advice... if you're not already married, don't get married there... when you go get engaged or have only a religous ceremony so you can bring him here on a K-1 visa instead of the other. From what I've seen so far on here it's faster that way and you can get your marriage license in the US and he can wait here to adjust his status after that. Be sure to bring lots of proof back that you have met and plan to get married. Good luck!

Like I said that's my personal opinion... others here may disagree.... anyone?

Hello and Welcome!! (F) I am going through Jordan as well. I filed my K-1 fiance visa in November 16 and it got approved on March 28, my case was shipped to Jordan on April 6th (according to the NVC) but I don't think it was actually done yet, I'm trying to confirm that now.

In anycase, I thought this was the long part, but things in Jordan have changed alot due to the war in Iraq. The embassy in Amman now serves Iraqis as well as Jordanians. The wait times are insane, I am being told I will get an interview sometime in 2007. Once I get the interview date I will post.

I wish I could help you more, but due to the recent changed in Amman, I don't think there is a fast process anymore. When I joined Visa Journey, everyone told me Amman is slowwwwwww, now I am sure of that. There are a few others here going through Amman that are married and their cases have also been taking a long time. I honestly don't know which process is faster in Amman anymore, its seems like they are running neck and neck.

Good Luck and keep us posted!!! (F)

I am waiting for my fiance's K1 through Egypt. I would make one suggestion to you. READ. It's laborious, yes, but well worth it. Educate yourself. The people here can share a lot knowledge with you and their experiences as well, and that will be helpful. But really, in order to make your wisest decision, I would suggest doing a little boning up on this process. Many here can share valuable links.

They're right. Collect and gather all the proof of relationship that you can. There is a great support system here. Welcome.

I have an opinion on the K1 or K3 issue. We went the K3 route because my husband and his family wanted us to marry there. They were not comfortable with him going away to a different country and marrying in America. I am glad we married there, it gave me a chance to meet his family and get to know them. K3 was not long, (6 months) it was waiting for the interview in Amman that was the wait. And K1/K3 wait the same time for an interview I believe.

Welcome to VisaJourney, my name is Jackie and my husband was from Alhusn, just south of Irbid. If you need any traveling tips before going into Jordan, please ask.

Hello and Welcome!!! (F) I am meriem. READ, READ,READ is my advice. You need to know the pros and cons of fiance vs marriage visas and make a informed decision on what you should do. I did not do any research before I hopped a plane to Algeria thinking I was going to marry and "just bring my man home with me" Ha, was I wrong. Anyway, I talked to the embassy while I was there and they suggested to me that a K-1 would be probably the faster way to go. That is all they told so I got on the internet and started reading. They were right in my case. It was the right thing to do for me.

You have come to the right place. You will learn so much here on Visa Journey. Good luck in whatever you chose.
