If you need to ask me anything..I will be more than happy to answer any questions or just lend an ear if you need. You can email me anytime :) and you know my yahoo id..don't be a stranger.

Everybody :) I hope all is well with you and your SO's.. I keep you all in my thoughts. By the way..I also can't hear anyone talk about doing their laundry without thinking of the meaning in this forum :blush:

Be prepared for things to be less than your dreams wanted them to be...but also be prepared for the good times to be better than ever imaginable!!! Good luck

Hello everyone i'm still here waiting. I have not been approved for my NOA2 yet they need some more information but i have not received the letter to see what it is. i'm going to Syria in 5 weeks and will have an engagament party while i'm there. i'm not to worried about the visa because i'm going to be with Samir soon, I just wish I could stay there and not come back here, but i'm a home owner and have so many responsibilities here. I started arabic lessons and have almost learned the whole alphabet. It is fascinating and really different from the other languages i speak. Just thought I would say hello in case someone remembers me.

Hi Allison -

5 weeks, how exciting!! I hope you post pictures of the engagement party, I know I'd love to see them. If I may ask, where are you taking arabic lessons? I mean is it classroom style or more of a private lesson situation. How is that going? Anyway, its nice to see you posting here.

Yeah, me too. Off-topic is the only place that has ever gotten me banned on here. This forum is the only one I post in most of the time, unless I have to go to the one for my current status to look things up.

I am so tired right now I should be taking a quick nap, but this place is so addictive!

We finished grouting the bathroom tile about midnight last night and didn't get to sleep until almost 1. Then it was a cold night and the heater ran all night because the laundry room ceiling is still down so I'm heating the attic, so I woke up at 5:40 and couldn't go back to sleep because the air was so dry.

At least we have the bathroom floor down now! Tonight we mortar the border in place, tomorrow Abdel grouts it and Friday night we can seal it all and be ready by the weekend to finally put the sink and toilet back in there for the first time since July of 2004. My son will be so happy we don't all have to cut through his room to use his bathroom now.

All we got done on the laundry room this weekend was moving the dryer vent and some preparation to install the drains. Oh yeah, and shopping. We found a ceiling fan and light fixture that will go perfect in that area.

Amal, that is terrible you have all been sick! Abdel was lucky he had no problem with the food, but I think he was very careful too. He won't drink milk because it keeps him in the bathroom but he had no problems with the water.

Dollface, I agree, you've been away too long. By the end of the second week in Morocco I was starting to get homesick for our food and work. It's nice to relax a little, but I'm way to high key to relax for 18 days! Of course after all this renovation I might change my mind. Even our honeymoon wasn't relaxing - we walked all day every day.

Esperando, I know how you feel about the homeowner part. I love having my own house but sometimes I wish I didn't have so much responsibility. I wanted to go to Morocco and wait with Abdel, but now that he's here, the wait is just a distant memory. I just wish the 20 pounds I gained during it were too.

Thanks for the welcome back Angel. I'm really glad things went so well for you. You two make the cutest couple. I wouldn't worry about how you'll react when you see him. When Abdel walked toward me at the airport I went to take his carryon and all he wanted to do was kiss me. He's a little shorter than me so he was kindof hanging on my neck the whole time we were walking around the airport. I was all business because his bags were lost and I was a little embarrassed that he wanted to be so affectionate right in the airport which I happen to work right next to, but he was just all smiles and hugs and kisses. Now that he's been here a while I'm used to the constant affection so it doesn't bother me any more.

The only other adjustment that was a little hard for me was not having any personal space. Even this morning I woke up with not even enough room to turn over. He sleeps glued to me some nights and since I was used to sleeping spread-eagle on a king-size bed, that is a big adjustment for me. I love having him there, it's just different.

You'll find things like that you have to adjust to, but overall things will be much much better with him here.

Ok, I'm confuseled. Which thread am I suppose to be posting in?

In any case, if ya'll have time, wander on over to my thread in Off Topic on the Complexities of the Muslim world. I spend a lot of time online and this last week, I've basically given up in frustration. I'm sick and tired of being the scapegoat for every stupid thing some muslim does somewhere. I know the thread will go right over some people's head, but maybe someone will read it and a light will go on in their head.

This thread!

Rahma if just one person reads it and gets it that will be enough. Some people in off topic I'm not sure if they are afraid of arabs or muslims but they are the ones always posting something about islam, or being muslim or something that happen in the middle east. Actually if you go into off topic and see who is making this topics you will see it's basically one person. Obviously he has something against islam, arabs, the middle east and can't confront in person so he does it on here because it's safe.

Yeah, I tried to get some interest going about the Albert Brooks movie "Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World" and there weren't many takers either. The movie isn't so great . . . interesting premise, but the execution leaves a bit to be desired. I did get a couple of good comments so I know there are some "thinking" people hanging around in VJ . . . but "Off Topic" can be a battleground at times . . . where else can you find so much interest in Britney Spears being pregnant again . . . who cares???
