Enshallah you will get some good news soon roula.

OK EVERYONE...some semi-good news for today! We went to hubbies job interview for the cable company and the guy said.."you are way way too qualified for this job..maybe you can get on at the ST. Louis center in the more skilled troubleshooting department". We told him that right now we don't have the funds to uproot and move to another town so we have to do what we can with what is available. He also told them..he may have more qualifications but he still needs to start at the beginning to learn the American ways of doing these things. The manager said he wants to hire him but he thinks we should discuss the pay and let him know what we want per hour. He said he felt bad that he couldn't pay what hubbie deserved. ....I REALLY hope he gets hired there..its respectable and in his line of work.... keep prayin !!!

(F) amal (F)

Inshallah he will get the job. God will provide. You should discuss what you think would be a fair rate with your husband considering the difference in Pay here and in the Middle east.

Hey - Guys

I have a question. Does anyone know if the Nuvaring is available in the Middle east.

Yes it does, lol, in the form of my mother in law  jking.

JP you're so funny

I couldnt imagine having to voluntarily choose the long route to be away from yacine... I'm still in college and feel like I need him here to help me through it!

Your also older than we are. We are so young and my education is just so important right now. If we wanted to get our lives started I needed to concentrate on my education. Which I did and I'm graduating ! If he had come a year or so ago we would have had to get married right away and who knows what would have happened (pregnancy making it harder to go to school, etc.). We also did not want Ali coming here on a fiance visa because then ALOT of problems would have happened guaranteed.

Yes it was a tough two years. Yes there was alot of crying and regretting. Yes there was stress. However, because we were apart, our way of coping was (so nice to say was now that he's coming) to make sure we were overloaded. Ali worked 12 hour days 6 days a week. I worked 8 hours days and was a full time college student. By keeping busy we were able to reach our goals and get him here on the best visa possible that will allow him to work and have his greencard right away. During this wait we have accomplished many things : I almost have my AS and am one semester away from my BS, I was able to get a teaching job, we were both able to save money so that we can buy our furniture and necessities for the house, and much more.

I doubt any girl here loves her fiance or husband less because they chose the long route. But when you are 19 some things take priority. Now that I am almost 22 Ali getting here and us getting married is the #1 priority in my life. I feel that we are now ready, back then we weren't.

Again, each situation is unique and each couple has their challenges and obstacles along with the visa.

Leb, I'm 22...

my education is important to me as well, and since I won't be working I'll have to have yacine come and work for me!

everyone takes their own path for their own needs... I just think I would go nuts waiting two years... but if fiancé visas were hard to get through algiers, then I would've probably just done a K-3.

Well sometimes no matter how much you plan or research, life will give you lemons and you just have to deal with the hand you get. I didn't choose my path, it choose me. There are people doing K-1's that filed the same time I did and they are already getting their interviews. I don't like waiting, i don't want to wait, I didn't choose this road knowingly, and I am dealing with it the best way I can.

LB, Icey, you are both young, you both have alot to learn about life and you learn as you go. I never planned for my life to end up the way it did, I never planned on waiting this long to get a 90 day visa, but lifes a ###### and there ain't nothing you can do about it. :star:

As promised ladies and gents I have Ishteaq's confirmed arrival home. It is late night on May 23rd which happens to be this coming Tuesday.:dance::dance:

I will being saying farewell to VJ in a few days since I have to get the kids finsihed with school, Ishteaq home and settled, and then JP is having surgery on the 1st of June. I will try and check in and see any updates but that will depend on how hectic life is going to be here. I definitely will update the Timeline and post his POE as soon as things permit.

Wanted to expresss my gratitude to all of you for your cheering us on along the way. I have enjoyed getting to know most of you and will be pulling for all of you to be reunited with your loved ones, soon.

This journey is not an easy one and I tell all of you to lean on each other and reach inwards and rely on your faith to keep you going.

Mary

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

The girls with fiance's and husbands from egypt, I found some cute Egyptian animated gifs that are free. There are several pages of them. Just under the gifs click "more" and it will go to a new page of them. You have to right click on the animation and then click "save image" or "save picture" to download them to your computer. Hope you enjoy them.

I am so excited for you Mary! Please keep in touch with us all! You have really been an inspiration to me when I have been down in the dumbs! Have a wonderful reunion! (F)

I know I posted this in another thread, but it's so funny, I have to post it here too! :D

Funnist thing happened to me today. I was sleeping and woke up to a very obnoxious noise. I look out my back window and what do I see???? I freakin camel! YES a camel! To give you an idea how my place is set up, the back of my house is open to a field that has a home on it. MY house is considered "country." BUT the homes on the other side of the street....that is considered "city limits." Comes in handy on the 4th of July....I can have the fireworks and the neighbors can't! So now about 20 feet from my bedroom window there is a camel. Thought I had died and gone back to Egypt! I can only wish! Talked to Khallid and he got a good laugh out of this. I said "Honey....you will feel even more at home here now!" The thing seems pretty friendly though, the kids have gone up to the fence and in leans over and they pet it's nose. I told them to watch out....they spit! So....there you go girls.....my funny news of the day.
