Belive it or not we wanted the long route. Because I am a college student I wanted time to finish my school before he came here. When we applied I was in my second year of college. I am now in my fourth and am graduating in December. It also allowed time for us to grow up and become a strong couple. Yes, it was a hard and long wait but we knew that was what we needed. We were young when we applied (I was 19) and now that we are older it makes more sense for him to come now.

Everyone chooses the route that is best for them because we all have different and unique needs that need to be met.

Coosing the long IR-1 route was the best option for us and I wouldn't have done it any other way.

We did it slightly differently, but with the same intent. We were pretty darn sure we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together after the first month I spent in Egypt in August of 03. But, I still had 2 years left of college and only a part time job. So we waited until after I graduated and got a decent job before applying for the K-1. I would say our relationship is also stronger and more mature than it was a few years ago, which is very helpful for us now that we're together.

well, for me and my husband we didnt know the visa take a long time.we tough just 6 months well we are smart , i hope next month i will get my interview and for you too

OK EVERYONE...some semi-good news for today! We went to hubbies job interview for the cable company and the guy said.."you are way way too qualified for this job..maybe you can get on at the ST. Louis center in the more skilled troubleshooting department". We told him that right now we don't have the funds to uproot and move to another town so we have to do what we can with what is available. He also told them..he may have more qualifications but he still needs to start at the beginning to learn the American ways of doing these things. The manager said he wants to hire him but he thinks we should discuss the pay and let him know what we want per hour. He said he felt bad that he couldn't pay what hubbie deserved. ....I REALLY hope he gets hired there..its respectable and in his line of work.... keep prayin !!!
