oops yes, my bad. James' shortcuts are not available for K1.

Best "shortcut" is to get everything ready for the interview to prevent being denied or put on AR.

K1 has not shortcuts at NVC and none are needed. Once NVC has the case, it usually gets send to the embassy in a few days. James' shortcuts are intended to shorted the CR1/IR1 NVC process from the usual 4-6 month range to about 3 months. As you can see, the shortcuts are useful for that long of a wait.
