Is it ok to handwrite "present" in this field (the filed is formatted for dates only)? I've read some posts where the DS-230s were kicked back for doing that. Help!!!! I don't want them to send mine back.

07/28/07 - NOA2 email

08/02/07 - Received NOA2 via snail mail.

08/14/07 - NVC receives petition, case # assigned.

08/20/07 - Form DS-3032 (choice of agent) & AOS bill generated.

08/23/07 - E-mailed choice of agent & mailed AOS bill (as per shortcuts).

08/30/07 - AoS bill entered into system

09/07/07 - Choice of Agent email entered into system.

09/10/07 - Mailed I-864EZ (Regular Mail)

09/10/07 - IV Bill Generated

09/14/07 - Wife receives DS-3032 (Thank God for the shortcuts!!!!)

09/22/07 - Received IV Bill

09/24/07 - Sent IV Bill Payment

10/10/07 - Sent DS-230 (Called NVC they said instructions were "mailed" last week)

10/25/07 - DS-230 RFE'd due to incorrect Birth Cert version.

10/31/07 - Sent in RFE back to NVC (Used RFE form from forum)

11/05/07 - RFE entered into system.....

11/20/07 - Case Completed

02/07/08 - Recieved Interview packet for K1 which I filed 09/06 but never cancelled

02/11/08 - Sent Consulate request to have interview for CR1 in place of K1

02/15/08 - RFE for new pictures on current CR1 ????WTH????

02/17/08 - Sent in RFE back with new pictures to NVC

02/22/08 - NVC forwards CR1 Case to Consulate in Santo Domingo

03/06-08 - Got the green light on the request to be interviewed on 3/20 for CR1 in place of old K1

03/20/08 - CR1 Interview -- Approved!!!!

03/31/08 - Travel to US

I-751

01/20/10 - Sent in request to remove conditions

01/30/10 - Received NOA for i-751

02/07/10 - Received NOA for Biometrics Appointment

02/26/10 - Biometrics completed

Yes that is acceptable, we did that.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

They won't kick it back for writing it in. They WILL kick it back for NOT writing it in.

Hey Trailmix,

How many checklists did you end up sending so far? I thought you only had issues once with ur DS230!! :blink:

Well I have had 2 Checklists from NVC - one for the I-864 and one for the DS-230.

For the I-864:

- Wanted a copy of my 2006 Canadian tax return, wanted me to put the figures for my foreign income for the last 3 years in the spaces provided (converted to U.S. of course) and wanted me to write N/A in field 24 (not using anyone elses income).

For the DS-230:

- Write 'To Present' in the date fields of items 20 and 22.

- Send in a copy of my Husbands Canadian Perm. Resident Card.

Now the reason I have sent DS-230 checklist info in twice is because I called them and the operator told me the checklist was for items 20 and 22. I printed a new DS-230, filled that in, made my own cover letter and sent it right back.

I then received the hard copy checklist in the mail - and discovered they also wanted a copy of the Perm Residency card (operator didn't mention that). So I corrected the DS-230 items 20 and 22 on the copy they sent to me and sent that back along with the copy of the card.

you can fix your adobe acrobat so you can type Present even its a date spot.

open the form with adobe acrobat :

go to edit in the top + click on Preferences + then Javascript in the left side + then uncheck the box that says ''enable acrobat Javascript'' + click ok.

Hey Tarik! What's up dude! I read your post apropos your interview. Don't worry, your case close to be approved. Just make sure you either obtain a co-sponsor or your wife provides enough evidence that shows her income exceeding their requirement.

I have a question for you!! Did you have to submit "Casier judiciaire" with the DS230 docs. I called today and was told that my wife's case is missing this one although I have already sumbitted the "fiche Anthropometrique"? Please let me know as I need to find out my wife should send to me. And I hope you hear some good news soon inchAllah!
