for girls we like amara, damani, yasmine, and Leena, were almost positive on Leena if its a girl....and i mean girls names are easy to pick out....the thing is we want a name that will fit both cultures...something that my family will at least be able to say....I do like Amir too....but geez, im pretty fluent in arabic and i cant barely pronounce the "a" in that name....plus i work with a kid name Amir, and he has made it very clear that he hates the way i say his name...lol...

for boys, we like Laith, and Zane....Sofyan is pretty set on Zane...I was just looking for more options...

sara, im jealous....your almost there....your baby could come any day now....Do u have names picked out?

Kelly we have really tried to consider the dual culture aspect too, I dont want my daughter to spend her entire life having to tell people how to pronounce her name.

On that note we are thinking about Leila, Noura, I like Amira, Adnan like Maryam... I guess we should be closer to deciding but I have a feeling its going to be one of those things where the final decision isnt made until the nurse walks in with the birth certificate to be completed, then it will be whatever one of us blurts out :)

all I can say is I hope its sooner rather than later these days as I have suddenly become very uncomfortable and ungainly  imagine that!

I really like Zane, I think one of Kara's (Moody) sons is named Zane and I had no idea that was an Arabic rooted name until I saw her mention it on another thread. Its a good one. We also like Jiad, we had thrown it around some until we knew we had a girl coming.

anyway, good luck to you Kelly and Sofyan and all you other soon to be MENA mommies, I know there are a bunch of us right now...Its a baby boom!

So when is your wedding?

Today I had fun bouncing around as a youngin' (29), but I had to get him up and pop in the false teeth and prepare the walker since he's a oldun' (31). :) Just kidding!

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

I got my first gray hair a week before my 28th B-day last year. Also my bones crack something fierce everytime I get up, oh and my poor hands ache sometimes. I don't look forward to the failings of my body as I get in the winter of my years.

I think I joined right after you did.

We are doing "ok". The move to Texas has about done me in. He likes it a lot here so far since he has his Jordanian friends everywhere. I am finding it hard to wake up in the mornings to face my life.

As far as our marriage in general, that is peachy keen. He is learning that doing nice things for ones wife is not stupid and that he will get rewarded much better the more nice things he does. We are thinking to untie my tubes next year and begin the process of trying to get pregnant. I hope my body can hold out long enough. If anyone can send a couple of prayers our way, it would be muchly appreciated.

I'm still doing pharmacy work and he is still doing the computer thing. If any of u know anyone who needs business cards, websites, anything at all for promoting their business, let me know. My hubby is fantastic and needs customers to get his business up and going.
