probably not proper protocol,,,but really what does it matter? cause it is a mexican flag?

any flag........not just the mexican one. or should the mexican flag be special?

no, but i seen italian ones higher..seen American flags faded and frail..no one gave a sh!t,,but because of the medial attention and Mexican backlash here..it became an issue for a chopf##k to feel important..who cares if he is a vet? does that make him more of an American than one that did not serve?

agree hermano, i bet if it were another flag noone would have cared.. and.. yeah,, #######, that's even disrespectful for the veterans, to use their name to act like pissed off farts because of wrong protocol.. and, I wonder if the restaurant personnel pressed charges against him, I hope they did..

People's nationalistic sensitivities are heightened right now about the sense of entitlement projected by Latino groups and illegal supporters. I thank God that the illegals decided to put it on full display on 2006 when they took to the streets demanding "rights" and flying foreign flags. It lit a fire under those who believe in respect for the law and traditions of the land they love. God bless America!

so do you agree with these ridiculous displays of 'patriotism' just because of a flag? God bless irrational chopfukcs? I understand the illegals, they're a bunch of uneducated people who were given a flag and just told them to go march for something.. but a veteran, who I actually consider them wise and respectful, act like an histerical girl?

So...would the German flag flying outside my home be illegal too? Or is it just that everything Mexican is illegal now, unless it's tacos?

I think it transpired in the original report that, according to the law, you can't fly any flag over the American flag. What makes that so hard to understand?

Oh man, why do they have to tempt me into civil disobedience by making up stupid laws that in the final analysis, mean nothing? Now I really really want to fly the German flag above the American flag, just to piss them off.

Maybe I Should send out a bulletin to anyone looking to commit real crime and let them know when I plan to fly the US flag under another flag, so they can plan their crime to coincide with mine, when all the cops will be busy doing "important" work.

but is it a crime or not? the ACLU released:

"The ACLU of Nevada is concerned about recent media reports that it is “illegal†to fly foreign flags over the U.S. flag.

While there is indeed a federal law regulating the display of the U.S. flag, that law is merely advisory and simply codifies standard government practice in displaying the American flag.

Several federal courts have examined this law and held that the flag rules are not mandatory and cannot be enforced. Indeed, if the federal flag rules were mandatory, they would clearly violate the First Amendment, which protects every American’s right to speak and express themselves, including their choice of flag to display.

In 1989, the Supreme Court held that we even have the right to burn our own flag, which had been outlawed by 48 states. Our robust and meaningful democracy is built upon our First Amendment, which protects our right to express ourselves even when - indeed, particularly when - that expression is distasteful or unpopular."

the funniest thing is that all the pro-this arsehole are talking about illegals and invasion, when the owner of the restaurant is a darned USC!! #######.. just shows that ignorance attracts more ignorance.. I really hope they press chargers against that fool..

Welcome to this time yesterday, I pointed out that it is not ILLEGAL but it is considered disrespectful to fly ANY flag above the US Flag while on US soil.

International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above that of another nation in time of peace.
