Hi folks,

N. received her approved AP papers on the 20th of last month; along with a notice that her greencard interview was scheduled for Nov. 14 (4 months exactly since we filed the papers). Monday we received a notice that her EAD card was approved and mailed.

Since these two documents were approved, can we relax a little as far as the interview goes----or is Murphy still subject to showing up as well?

I have been checking the other interview posts here on VJ; and the common thread seems to be the more documentation you bring to the interview, the shorter the actual questions and the less likely any of your paperwork will be looked at.

Any advice you successful people can share would be welcome; especially anything about Atlanta.

Just because her AP and EAD was approved, it doesn't mean the interview is pretty much null. You can get an EAD by being eligable, but you don't necessarily get a green card because the interview is all about your relationship itself. So you can't "relax" but that doesn't mean you should worry either. :)

The best thing to do is be prepared. Go through the checklist from VJ on what you should bring to prove your relationship. My lawyer said that a lot of his clients just show up to the relationship very unprepared and then have a hard time. We had lots of joint documents and we also brought copies of every single document we had. Because we were so prepared it was literally 5 minutes long.

Be prepared, only answer questions that are addressed to you (not your spouse's) and be direct. Don't ramble with answers that may lead to more questions...

My lawyer also said that having too much documentation is better than little, it can also raise a flag. But that's just his opinion.

8/15/2007 RFE Birth Certificate

8/27/2007 Biometrics Scheduled for 9/19/2007

8/31/2007 I-485 Touched

9/04/2007 I-485 Touched

9/19/2007 Biometrics

9/26/2007 EAD Approved (76 days)

10/04/2007 EAD Received

10/05/2007 Applied for a Social Security Card.

10/09/2007 Interview Scheduled for 11/15/2007

10/17/2007 Social Security Card Received

11/15/2007 Stoked on first interivew. Got everything right but officer had a problem with age difference.

04/14/2008 Stokes interview. Approved in less than 5 mins with no questions asked.

04/17/2008 Card Production Ordered.

04/22/2008 Received Green Card.
