The puerto ricans aren't bilingual though? The ones I know in NJ all are.... and this area has lots of puerto ricans...

Can I just ask a silly question...why is it necessary to type ILLEGAL in all caps every time? Seriously everyone does that! It's kinda funny.

Because they're yelling. :P

there was some mention of hooking up with other groups of immigrants. Like in St. Louis there are "societies" of legal immigrants. My step father belongs to the Spanish Society and Iknow they have one for Danish immigrants, and all other immigrants by group.

And do what? Organize rallies with these other groups? How would that be organized with people from all over though?

I believe the person who brought it up (not me) said something about finding regional groups like that from all over. Things like that.

I don't know what we should do, I just know that we should do something. Coupled with the fact that now that USAToday article came out about marriage fraud, our voices should be heard in some way.

So how come hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants can organize and form protests and rallies across the country and people here think that it would be too hard for us to do it?? how come their voices are considered powerful and get heard and ours cant be? if people wanted to invest time and energy, our voices can be just as loud! granted, i have absolutely no idea how to go about doing something like this, but we should all be able to collectively come up with something.....dontcha think?

I aint cool enough for a signature.....

Shouldn't that be ILLEGAL immigrants... mmm, nevermind..LOL

That's the problem....we just haven't hit upon the idea yet.

The illegal supporters just have to go out in the street, they are one group with one message...we've got to find other immigration groups to hook up with to make our voices as powerful and present a unified message.

There are powerful and established organizations that are arranging those protests.

Exactly, there just isn't an organization that focuses on legal immigration or we don't know about it; maybe getting in touch with the ACLU would help or CCDS or any of those organizations listed on the USCIS website under non-profit groups helping with immigration matters. And most of us don't know how to organize a protest, but if we tried we could most likely accomplish something because there are many more LEGAL immigrants in the country than illegals.

We need to overcome our fears that we can't achieve anything or that we're too far spread...
