When I read what people including myself are going through to be with their spouses and loved ones it upsets me.Its not fair when so many illegals are here and now they are protesting about their rights.I have nothing against immigrants coming here, most of my family immigrated here..but they went through the proper procedures. Yet they are out there protesting while we wait patiently for papers to be approved, pay the fees, have medical exams, and wait nervously for a decision.

I agree. They are getting a free ride. In fact, we are picking up the tab.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

In my personal view, they have no rights by default - they're illegals.

This is an issue I really don't have time to get into now - I'm still in my PJ's and I have a meeting in 45 minutes!

Join the protests. Fight for your rights as well!

I've joined the protests in spirit--at least fired off some rant-letters to WashPost, BaltoSun, etc. I have strong feelings on it after the migraines I went through in getting a GC.

Speaking of speaking Spanish...

I was noticing on the news when they showed the illegal immigrant rallies that they were all chanting in Spanish.

Did anyone else find this odd?

I mean, not all illegal immigrants speak Spanish. Who is actually being represented at these rallies?

It doesn't seem like the general illegal immigrant population to me...
