Visiting US from UK while Visa Ap. being processed

Hi, im new to VJ, but hopefully someone out there knows the answer to my predicament.

Im British, my wife is a USC in LA. I have been stuck here in England for 3 months without her, and the pain is really starting to get aweful. I know there are so many people out there who are going through worse, and my heart goes out to all of them.

I read on the London Embassy website that it is going to take 12 weeks from when they send out my stuff from the NVC. Is this really true? I know its around a month from the date the Embassy send you a letter telling you when you're interview date is, but is it really 12 weeks before they even begin processing the Application when they receive it from the NVC?

If the above is true,

I am wondering if I can visit the US, while my Visa App. is at the NVC waiting to be sent to the Embassy in London. I have a British Bank Account, and obviously i would fly with a return ticket for 3 to 4 weeks from when i get there, plus everything i want to ship is still here in England. Im not renting and dont own a house cos im living with my Mother at the moment. I thought it would be a lot quicker than this obviously, which was stupid of me.

I also read somewhere you can fly to Ireland first, go through US Immigration there, and then fly on to LA, (meaning i wouldn't have to fly all the way to LA if i got denied at immigration... is this true aswell?

I really hope someone can help, and i really appreciate it.

Yes Dublin and Shannan Ireland is a US pre-clearance location, so some go through there just in case they deny you entry to the USA, it is a shorter trip from Dublin or Shannan to the UK

All you need to demonstrate is strong ties back home, like a letter from employer, etc..

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You might want to check out this persons story as well, they crossed from Canada to the U.S. this past weekend and they were stopped and asked for evidence of ties to Canada - Crossing border while visa pending

Thanks for your help. Anybody know about the 12 week waiting for the London US Embassy?? Is that true or not?

Has anyone had any experience with the London Embassy and knows if they waited ages or was it roughly just a month from NVC sending the file until the interview date?

My wife was here in the US visiting me last summer with a visitor visa while waiting for the USCIS approval. No issues other than the embassy personnel was giving her a hard time because I didn't start the CR1 process sooner.

You might want to try asking in the UK Forum.
