Okay guys....is it normal for the approved petition to just sit at the NVC for a month??? I mean it was my understanding that the NVC doesn't actually do anything with the k3 visa applications during this time??? Should I be getting concerned that something is wrong??? They told me 2 to 4 weeks and tomorrow will be the end of week 4....

K3s and K1s normally move thru NVC in a short time. However due do the multitude of visas filed before the fee increase that are getting to NVC at this time. I imagine they are backed up bigtime as was/are the service centers.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Jade there is nothing normal about the whole immigration process. they move at the speed they want to move. i am sorry that you have been waiting so long at nvc. i read this somewhere on this site that the petition forward from nvc depends a lot on the consualte it is being forwarded to.

also, please keep on calling them.. all i can say is good luck.

I would be a little worried. Have you called NVC to ask about it? Is your petition in AR? The fee increase beaters haven't made it to NVC yet (neither have many people who filed before the fee increase was even announced for that to have an impact). Most K visas that stay at NVC this long are in AR.

I called again today as the 4 weeks are now up. They told me that there is nothing wrong with the case it is just still going through Administrative Review. I asked her what about the 2-4 weeks....she said that this is an estimate...it could be 4 weeks and a day, 4 weeks and 3 days, etc etc. There was NO way to know. I call EVERY day. So I asked her when should i call back....she replied, "whenever you want to"

So any suggestions....other than wait???
