Meridien--stupid question: what time did they tell you to pick up the visa? We're trying to work out a trip to Vancouver Island after our interview, and it would help to know if we can pick it up the next morning or not until some time in the afternoon. I'll ask this on the Canada branch though.

Hi there! They told me to pick it up at 2:00pm the next day. I showed up about 15 minutes early, because I wanted to make a 3:00pm ferry to Nanaimo. I was in and out of the office in 5 minutes or so. When you go pick up your visa, there will be a line of people outside waiting for visa pickup, but you can go to the front of the line and tell them you're picking up a fiance visa and they will let you right in. I made my ferry with time to spare. :D

You also asked me a while back if I my fiance was at the interview with me, and the answer is no, I went by myself. We decided that he should save his vacation days for a fun holiday later this year instead. And honestly, Billy gets very nervous around official government types, so I didn't think he would be much help anyway! Being by myself wasn't a problem at all.

Thank you! That's very helpful. That's probably the same ferry he is talking about. We are trying to do too much on Vancouver Island I think. Catching a 3 pm ferry would kick so much butt!
