EAD emails from USCIS

Just a quick question...on the online system, as of 9/27, EAD card production was orderd. Cool, excellent. Said that it'd arrive within thrirty days. No prob.

I just received another email from USCIS saying that on 10/2, an approval notice for the EAD was sent. Also just fine.

But I remember reading that for some things, they sent out the message that the approval notice was sent, when in actuality it was the card that was sent. Is this the case with EAD? Or should I first expect an approval letter for the EAD and then at some later date (hopefully within the 30 days) the actual EAD card?

Speaking for us and each case can be different....it was the actual card attached to the "approval notice". Took about two days to arrive after the approval notice email was received. You're really close!!!!

You will likely only receive a card, not an additional letter. USCIS often generates redundant, and sometimes misleading, emails. Congrats, BTW!

Claudeth received two email notices of the EAD approval and then four days later received the EAD.

I figured it would be redundant and silly to send an approval notice and then the card, but wouldn't have been surprised if that was the case.

And thanks for the congrats...it actually came so quickly that my hubby hadn't been prepared to look for work! He JUST started his intensive ESL classes last week (25 hours a week) so I figure that he'll continue for a while because it'll be better for him in the long run. Something part time would be very nice, if we could find something.
