No need to be condescending...I am not saying either way if his post useful or not or if looking for a "pattern" is useful..MY point is...whether or not you deem it useful does not matter..someone else might..and who is anybody on here to say otherwise..also, if he wants to exhaust his time looking for a "pattern" is it hurting anything? It's his time and effort..Might I add as well, I did find all info about RFE's useful..YES oh yes it did make me more paranoid reading it all..but I am the type of person who would rather know all that is out there then be suprised but that's just me...

Fine. Panic yourself into oblivion.

But don't be surprised when you see people who collect this kind of information going "OMG IT'S BEEN, LIKE, 4 AND A HALF DAYS AND EVERYONE ELSE HAS GOTTEN THEIR CHEQUES CLEARED AND MINE HASN'T AND OMG I MUST BE GETTING AN RFE! THAT'S SO UNFAIR - WHY DIDN'T SOANDSO GET AN RFE WHEN THEY FILED THE SAME STUFF I DID ON THE SAME DAY? WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MY PETITION EXPEDITED BECAUSE THE RFE IS WRONG AND I NEED AN EAD YESTERDAY BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO EAT!!"

At which point you will get the same response - there simply is no "normal" to this process. A little acceptance goes a long way, and worrying about the RFE you haven't got yet is like worrying about being fired before you've even landed the job.

Collect all the information you like, but when it's already there for you, don't clutter up the board with something which is essentially not helpful to anybody. It's not his time and effort when he creates a thread asking for information which is more than likely duplicated elsewhere. You can also see RFE data in the Timelines section of the website - did he look there, do you think?

While I understand that it can be interesting to look at other peoples RFEs (in much the same way as it is interesting to look at a car wreck on the way by), one could say that if one has read the guides and filed carefully in the first place, they should not be receiving an RFE... ;)

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

Oooorrr if you hadn´t scared away all the people who might have been interested joining this thread for their own reasons maybe it would have turned into an interesting thread. So sofar not only that it didn´t have a chance to develop into an interesting thread, you might as well be the one taking up the space that others would have used :P

You are absolutley right. I just got an RFE but I'm going to start a new thread about it. This thread is now waaaay off topic and a lot of space has been wasted on arguing. Maybe we can take up this subject in my new thread? All is welcome to post about RFE's. Thanks.

Or no one has anything to add because they have already put their information about their RFE in the August thread :D

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Do you have a particular question regarding your RFE that you don't know the answer to? The reason I ask is that if you are starting a thread just for the sake of it it then clogs up the forum for people who DO have genuine questions and need help.

Makes it harder for people to find those threads and post helpful advice. ;)

I don't get "clogging it up" - is there a limit on threads that can be posted?

Yes, I do have a question about my RFE that people may or may not have the answer to. Really, the answer lies with USCIS and no one can read their minds. But the reason I post is to get the ideas, opinions, and feedback of others. That is the point of visajourney, no? We offer support to each other. Sadly, it seems like more often than not we forget about that and end up arguing "who's right/what you're allowed to post" back and forth, which wastes everyone's time.

Okay, for every new thread that is started others on the first page of that forum get pushed back. Now, what if there is a really valid question but because there were ten threads regarding rather obvious questions no one sees it. Very few VJers check back more than the first page per forum so it could be easy to miss an really important question.

That's what I call clogging up. Valid questions or information getting missed because people didn't read the guides properly, or want to pot a thread about things that are already answered if they took the time to look around.

There is no limit to how much you post, of course not, however I just ask that people think a bit before clicking the "new topic" button. That's all. :)

I didn't take it as being lazy..maybe just maybe...he wanted a thread just for rfe's and didn't want to rifle through all the other stuff...I don't see why it always has to problems when somebody does things differently than the way others think they should..what is pointless and useless to you(in general) might help others...isn't that the point anyway

Thank you for having the ability and intelligence to comprehend the simple question I asked, it is a shame more people are not like you, but instead outright rude, insensitive and insulting, and by the way if you do not want to read this thread then do not read it, no one requires you to, there are many threads I do not pay attention to or read or make no sense to me but do I go on them and insult or attack someone, NO, I move on to something else I am searching for. So thank you for understanding my question, you are right, I am not lazy, just did not care to or see sense in going through many other threads or other stuff that does not even relate to this issue for AUGUST FILERS, funny and amazing thing is how one person from Canada and one from England that are not even August filers get on this thread and attack it, why, do I attack you or insult you or have I? NO I HAVE NOT, show some class and maturity. I was not seeking your input nor your insults, so why do you bother when this thread does not even pertain to you, amazing, you must not have much to do in your life other than attack others and insult them. AND you are right, what is wrong asking a question, if you do not like it, do not answer it or read it if it does not pertain to you. It is just there are many people this information could help that will be filing in the future on the pitfalls of what could generate or cause a RFE, and yes no doubt each person's case is different but there are patterns or tendencies for certain types of RFEs I am noticing by the response I have gotten from fellow August filers.

You maybe want to check but I think you will find that the people asking you not to clog up the boards are Moaderators/Organizers and long standing members..... maybe you need to stop and think about what it is you are posting and from what I have read in this thread nobody has attacked you or been rude to you.... but you have been asked not to start another post when there are already post that cover this subject... is that too much to request...

There is a thread where there is information on RFEs already. This is good information to have.. BEFORE you file. And once you receive an RFE.

While it's good to have information on RFEs in general, it seems that a thread dedicated to RFEs for only one month of filers to see if there are 'patterns' gravely misunderstands how this process works. An RFE is specific to an individual case; it's not like a filing increase or a receipting delay or a USCIS directive that will affect everyone. It's also not a seasonal thing, where they ask for more RFEs in the fall or in the spring, so it doesn't make sense just to limit it to the handful of August filers that have received RFEs.

I expect there will be a larger number of RFEs for people who left out their marriage license or their vaccination supplement because they were trying to beat the fee deadline. But it would be a mistake to conclude that this represents a trend where USCIS is 'scrutinizing' the vaccination supplements.

Also, you're a K-1 posting in the AOS forum.

Quite frankly, ZGT, I don't care if you think I'm rude. I do care about the people who will read this thread and get panicked because of a collection of information from which you are trying to infer something that isn't there; ie. a pattern of RFEs. As Caladan pointed out, each case is different. It's not like the IMBRA RFE that made the rounds; there is no directive that suggests there will be a pattern. If there is a pattern of people forgetting things, it's because they have not spent enough time researching what they should have sent in the first place.

As Mags said, it's very frustrating to see different, individual questions get pushed off the front page when they could have been significantly more beneficial to the users of this forum than this particular thread.

Finally, I don't see what my nationality has to do with the price of fish. I have been through the AOS process, like everyone else, in the US. I filed the same paperwork, and you know what - I didn't get an RFE. Maybe that's because instead of worrying about it, I spent the time to research what needed to be sent and sent it. Now I know that people get RFEs through no fault of their own, and that the USCIS is not infallible. However, running a search in the AOS forum alone for "RFE*" returns you 11 pages of results. There is no lack of information out there if you are willing to hunt for it.

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

Like I said you do not like it do not read it, to not even reply to it, obviously it has some merit or people like you and your fellow UK fraternity members would not even be looking at it at all now would you? AND yes I was attacked and insulted, yet I do not do the same. Once again it is for August filers, thanks to you and your other fellow UK bashers you have been the ones to clog up this post, when it was not even directed to you at all, and how do you know or have any clue or answer to how USCIS works on RFEs? Do you work for them are you from the USA and have expertise in this area? If so please share it, if not please do not bother wasting August Filers with RFEs.
