It's much easier and I will advise you personally to ask your mother to put you as her agent and send all the documents to you rather than sending them to India. There is a James Shortcut link on my signature, click on that. The Shortcut will save you at least 4 weeks.

Good luck ..

Does the NVC consider your mother to be residing in the US? Does your mother have a US address?

If yes, then do it no agent and list her US address.

But if your mother is not a current resident inside the US, you will have to be elected as agent. This is a form your mother needs to sign, not you, because she is authorizing and electing you as agent.

Fill out the DS-3032 form, but leave signature and date section blank. Send it to her via email or courier. She signs it and couriers it to the NVC (or you).

By courier I mean Fedex, dhl, airborne. Something that requires tracking and receival confirmation.

You should become her agent so you can go through the whole process faster. The mail in India is not very reliable if she does not get the documents it can delay your process.
