Hi,

I want to know what is the address of the US embassy in Vietnam that I should be file for my I-129F? I'm from US and my fiance is from VN. I got the address from the internet for the US embassy in VN.

4 Le Duan Street

Dist. 1, Ho Chi Minh City

I just wanted to confirm and make sure this is the right address for me to put it in my letter. Another question, my fiance kept mentioned that some of his friends also file I-129F, but it took them more than 1 or at least 2 years the get it done. Is that possible for the paper work to take that long? I thought it will only take 6-8 mons. Thanks.

You can't file a I-129F anywhere else but at your USCIS service center in the US.

Most K1s have been taking from 6 months to 10 months depending on the case.

May be a bit longer now with the jam up the fee increases caused!

Thank Becky,

I know I have to file my I-129F here in USA, but what I mean is which address should I write down as for my fiance service center? Or they will automactically choose which service center in Viet Nam when I send in my I-129F? Thanks.

When you file I-129F, the USCIS/NVC will automatically know it. No need to worry. In addition, if your fiance(e) from the North, it will then to US embassy in Ha Noi. If its from South, it will to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City).

They will not automatically know. Petitions have been sent to the wrong embassys because people left out the info. Especially since there are 2 embassies in Viet Nam.

Here is what I understanding. When you file I-129F, the Nantional Visa Center will know where the package will send to. Because you're already put your fiance(e) address on I-129F. I'm very sure NVC should know it. There are 1 US embassy and 1 US Consulate in Vietnam

1. US Embassy located at Ha-Noi (North Vietnam)

2. US Consulate located at at Ho Chi Minh City (South Vietnam). It calls Saigon.

Alls I know if you don't specify which embassy the interview will take place your petition can end up in the wrong embassy. Even wrong countries embassy.

Don't leave ANY blanks!

K visas are processed by the immigrant visa unit at the HCMC Consulate. K visas are not processed by the US Embassy in Hanoi. So yes, NVC will know where to send your approved I-129F petition. And yes, if your fiance lives in Hanoi, he/she will have to travel to Saigon to have the interview.

Thank you all your replies. It make me feel a lot better. My fiance is from the North. So I guess, he has to travel to the South for his interview. More questions, his parents don't have their birth certificate bc they lived in the country side, so they never apply for birth certificate. I told him to apply birth certificate for his parents, just in case they would ask during his interview and also later on we can sponsor them over here. What do you think? Should I send my and his birth certificate along with my I-129F?
