I got a very little bit of the private message, but hi back! :D I'll try to help you. I did a google search, "Who's my congressman in chicago?" So do similarly for wherever you live. There will be zones/districts and it might take a bit of weeding. This person will have a website, office of blah blah blah. Call the number and tell them this is an immigration matter and that you need to speak to someone immediately. I did not speak with the actual congresswoman, but a "constituent advocate" as listed on her business card. This person should schedule an appt soon, maybe even today, which would be awesome. You tell them that the bcis cashed a check for your i-131 and you need some action as the date the application is filed for is dangerously close. Don't email or fax. Call and come in for an appointment! I scheduled it for the end of the day and left work a little early.

It's okay for you that you only need to drive to Canada. We still had flights to book and you know, the longer you wait, the higher they go up. I was trying not to worry. I hope whoever handles your case was as competent and genuine as ours.

Let us know what happens!!

Amy

One more thing, they do have the power to infopass.
