Hiya everyone!

Well, we went and got passport pics done for william yesterday. We asked the guy to make sure the were American standard size passport pics. They cost 2 for £9.99! Yikes! But we paid it as was necessary. Now, the guy who did the pics left them on the same sheet together and didn't cut them up. We got four done, so two seperate sheets. I asked him if they needed to be cut and he said because they were the American size, which is slightly bigger, that they usually prefer us to hand them in like that rather than try to cut them ourselves.

When you handed in your passport pics for the medical and/or the interview, were there cut already or on one sheet together?

Also, I know it's 2 pics for the medical. Is it 2 or 3 pics they need for the embassy interview?

Cheers y'all!

Hi there,

I think I just cut mine apart, so I had single pics, that was just fine.

I needed one when I sent of package 3 to the embassy, another one when I had the interview and a third one for the medical. That was it.

But they usually give exact info on how many pics to add with the particular application, so don't worry.

Good luck to you!

Our experience: we brought, as instructed, one US-size passport photo to the medical for Bruce, already cut to size. The receptionist promptly trimmed it down to UK size (!!!) to fit on the forms, and said that the advice given by the embassy to have a US size was all wrong. At the interview, we handed over two trimmed US-size photos but were given one back -- they only needed one, apparently.

Once again, the instructions are as clear as the proverbial mud. To be safe, have at least 3, but you may end up with an extra photo as a memento of the whole process!

That's too funny about the instructions being wrong! hehe When I called the doctors to book the medical, she advised me that the fee was no longer the £170 that had been on the letter I just received that day, but it was now £200! Why don't they update their letters before sending them out? It's kinda like the weather here....we gotta be prepared for anything!

Well, we got four pics now so I suppose we'll be okay. I'll just cut them myself then and do the best I can. hehe

Off to London tomorrow and the medical on Wednesday! Good times! Will have a free afternoon in London and I've never been before so anything I should try to see?

I handed two over during my interview, and they were both used and attached to different forms infront of me, I think it was a duplicate copy of D-230.

That aside, I got 2 photos done at a photographers, and then scanned them in and printed my own off to use. The Embassy didn't say anything about the pictures when I handed over ones I had printed off myself.

When I booked my husband's medical, she said that they add VAT to the price of the medical. So it was like they were passing it off as simply VAT rather than a fee hike. Pretty poor still that it's not explained on the letter.
