Alright, so my fiancee is getting a little anxious and wants to know if she has to take her parents to the interview or CFO seminar because she is 20 years old. I told her lets find out later since I just sent in the 129f today, but she wants to know already. So, anyone know? Thanks

once a fellow VJ member told me that there's one applicant before who attended PRISM seminar & her age is less than 21 yrs old. The PRISM office was asking for a parent's consent but this girl came from a far province.

if your fiancee, didnt feel comfortable of just having parent's consent, i think she can bring her mother in PRISM office. My friend was with me in PRISM office, she just stayed in Reception Area. At least if anything come up..mother is just there.

BuT, for the the interview in USEMbassy..im afraid the mother is not allowed.

regards!

I know there has been discussion on this in the past but I can't find anything about the age issue on the CFO website.

At 21 years old, your fiancee needs parental advice to contract marriage. I suggest that she see a lawyer with her parents and let them ( parents) excute an affidavit to that effect and she can bring the same to the seminar.

Just our opinion :)

Definitely no on taking parents to USEM interview.

If I remember correctly CFO requires letter of consent for under 24 and parents accompany under 21.

I don't know how strict they are tho on such.

When my wife did CFO they sent a girl home from Baguio without CFO approval to get parents approval. Whether she had to bring her parents or get a letter I don't know.

At least she only had a 6 hour bus ride. Outer island peeps have it tougher.

She may need to bring a "Parental Consent to contract marriage" and those at CFO may ask for it (on the one on one interview/counseling). There is one case at CFO-COWS (QC not at PRISM-Manila) that they require one applicant to come back and bring one or both parents, since she was 18 yrs. old. Just to be sure, better have the "parental consent" ready. Relatives may have to wait outside during the CFO seminar.

But for the USEM interview, relatives are not allowed to enter and accompany the applicant, except if the applicant is an elderly/senior citizen.

The peeps at CFO are NOT consistent even a little bit on requirements.

They recently wouldn't let a friend of mines fiance do the interview until HE got a certificate of singleness from the US.

Another friend was required to get FULL court transcripts of his divorce instead of just the certified divorce decree.

Guess the nuns there don't watch soaps and wanted to read something spicey!!

Thanks everybody. Ill tell her to make sure she has the consent form with her forthe whole thing. She lives in Makati, so if she does need a parent it wouldn't be much a hassle.
