I am preparing my I-864 using James shortcut. He says I should send a cover letter with the documents.

If any one know about this please let me know. I knew that I don't have to send the Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data. But I don't know about the cover lette. Is there a sample letter in here some where. let me know.

I really appreciate your help. Thankyou

Thanks for the quick reply djturbo.

I heard from other VJ members who already sent the I-864 that we don't need to send the Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data any more. what about the cover letter. I am confused with that.

Here's what James recommended to send for the I-864.

* Cover letter

* Barcoded cover sheet

* I-864

* Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data

* Copy of tax returns from last three years along with copies of W2s

* Letter of employment

* Last three pay stubs

Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data is no longer needed.

For the cover letter....

-write the names and DOB of petitioner and beneficiary, address, case number

-subject : I-864 submission

-table of contents telling them what you have included (and in what order)

-description of what you have included.

The cover letter just gives them a guide of what you have included in your submission.

06/07/2007 ----- Touched ! (Please... not an RFE)

06/11/2007 ----- UPDATE (Received RFE today...sent evidence back same day)

06/12/2007 ----- Touched ! (come on... I sent the info. already. What now?)

06/13/2007 ----- RFE accepted in Laguna Niguel; signed by V. Semegi

06/21/2007 ----- UPDATE - Response to RFE received; Case processing resumed

07/09/2007 ----- APPROVAL NOTICE SENT !!!

07/23/2007 ----- NVC starts case processing

------------------- Jame's Shortcuts in Progress ;)

10/16/2007 ----- CASE COMPLETE !!! ...Finally

10/25/2007 ----- CASE FORWARDED TO MUMBAI !!!

12/04/2007 ----- INTERVIEW PACKET !!!

01/24/2008 ----- VISA GRANTED!!!............PASSPORT IN HAND !!! :)

01/30/2008 ----- ARRIVAL TO U.S !!! :)

12/30/2009 ----- I-751 sent
