Hey Everyone!

Thought I would introduce myself :)

My name is Laura, I'm 26 years old and I'm from Ontario, Canada.

I met the love of my life, Nicholas , in 2005. Nick lives in New Jersey, he's 28. We met in September of 2006 and have been traveling back and forth visiting each other and getting to know each other's families since then. I'm actually leaving this Friday to attend his sister's wedding! I'll be down there for 6 days :)

I also think he could propose this weekend!! LOL I'm getting that vibe that something is up..but who knows. :)

We have talked all about getting married and have contacted a lawyer and begun the process by completing a starter kit.

I'm currently waiting on my divorce papers (Only about a month or so to go) and then we will really get the ball rolling.

I'm finding these boards super useful and I look forward to getting to know some of you.

I don't think Nick will be on this account much, he's not much into message boards..tee hee ;)

Best of luck to everyone!!

Hugs

Laura :)

Hi Laura, and welcome! Wishing you a speedy journey and all the best wishes for your future in the USA! Been there, and done that. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I don't know what the starter kit is, but if you don't have huge hurdles, if you read the FAQ's and Guides here, you could well do this visa preparation and journey on your own and save a few bucks! Just remember we're here to help you in this process, with many of us from Canada in the Canada Forum to help you. (Lots of other knowledgeable and helpful people everywhere actually!) I just want you to know that the Canadian Forum is a friendly place to hang out as well.

Welcome!

Carla,

Thank you! (L)

The starter kit was just for our lawyer..a questionnaire to fill out and a general outline of what the K-1 process involves.

Nick and I have talked it over and feel much more comfortable doing it with the assistance of a lawyer.

Thanks for offering the help..I'm sure I'll have questions and stuff along the way and a few freak outs!!

We have no obstacles really. No kids, he has a great job, no criminal records on either part, etc. etc.

Should be smooth sailing (I HOPE!)

I'll check out the Canadian Forum...

Thanks again hon!!!
