My partner's interview is on the 22nd of next month *squee* and he wants to go have a drink afterwards (he's already a bundle of nerves). Can someone recommend a good pub nearby to the consulate?

Forget roses and chocolates; when you've found someone who will do government paperwork for you - that's love!

Let me ask my husband but I am pretty sure there are a few near by.

Okay just asked he said plenty of pubs not sure which are good but there are plenty.

Good luck. It was a breeze for us.

Well now, there's a question, what makes a 'good' pub anyway.

are you looking for one with a table quiz, good food, good ale?

I'm Irish, so I don't care about the ales cos i don't drink'um, but a nice guiness.... I would go out of my way to a pub where they even knew how to pull it properly

When he comes out of the Embassy just ask one the police officers guarding it, if they don't know the nearest decent pub things have changed a lot since I was in the Met

there's a bar inside the millennium hotel which is right next to the embassy. be careful though you might get some polonium 210 hehe. we stayed there last year right after the whole litvenako thing and now just call it the polonium 210 hotel.
