Was wondering who else is waiting since 2006- we should keep in touch

It has been one year and seven months since we filed, and there's no NOA2 in sight. The only touches we got were when my husband was changing his apartments. The distance and the never-ending wait was driving me to the threshold of insanity, until my husband decided to move to Pakistan and wait here until there's something called a US visa on my passport. Now he's here, Thank God, and we are getting to know what it's like to live like a husband and wife.

From our understanding of it, because my husband is "overtly religious", the DOS likes to keep sniffing around him. We are waiting for the visa, but we are together and sometimes I am able to forget we're waiting for anything. I am now scared this pre-NOA2 AP will continue forever because he's here in Pakistan and that's exactly what they wanted to do, to keep him away. However, we cannot stay here like this for a very long time - may be a few more months. Anymore than this would rip us financially and I am scared of another parting...

God Help us... and everyone else who's waiting.
